Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
They never arrived
Had them over a year. Very comfortable walking shoes, great for urban/fair weather. No issues with grip. Water proof for showers and puddles but have no bellowed tongue so wet grass = wet feet.
Bought for light dog walking, and these are comfortable for this. However, they are useless unless conditions are bone dry. Feet get wet walking through wet grass.
Also stitching failed before 1year
I live on Dartmoor and walk in the rain often. The shoes are comfy but leak at the sole joint and the tongue is not actually attached to the body of the shoe, so water rushes in. No issue with grip.
Bought these shoes as needed a new pair of waterproof Merrell shoes. As they are waterproof thought they would be good in the wet. They do keep you feet dry but they are so slippy in the wet you can not dare wear them. Ended up on my side in the city today and now looking at trip to A&E.
Do Not Buy if you want to use them in the wet.
I bought a pair of men's MOAB Adventure shoes prior to going to Madeira in December. I didn't give it a second thought because I have had various pairs of Merrell's before.
All went well until the shoes had to cope with wet surfaces. To cut to the chase, I ended up on my back on a cliff edge, on what was an easy path. The next day I was on my back again on a (wet) cobbled pavement in town. No, I was not drunk, and I am not clumsy, in fact I can't remember the last time that I lost my footing!
These shoes are OK on wet tarmac, but on other surfaces beware! I don't know how much wear I will get out of these shoes, because living in the UK, what are the chances that it will be wet?
I find these shoes have little grip on wet, granite cobbles or on icy pavements. I now only use them in dry mild conditions. Very disappointing performance and I would not recommend.these shoes
These a the most comfortable walking shoe I have ever bought. Good waterproofing
I have just given these trainers a thorough test walking long distances in Scotland. Fantastic! SO comfortable and waterproof too.
£100 Would be considered an expensive outlay for these shoes by some. Personally I've worn these make of shoes for many years and these are no different. Extremely sturdy and hard wearing, waterproof and comfortable from the first time you put them on. Mould to your feet quickly and never have blisters. Quality and comfort together with warms dry feet ! What more could you ask for. Don't take my word for it though, purchase your own and you'll see what I mean.
The shoes I tried on fitted like a glove but after a miles walking in them I found that the shoes do have some issues.
If you feel inside the shoes, where the base of the toe would be and then feel the top side, there is a 3mm square "Hard spot" where if your foot comes into contact with it, it will could cause you some real difficulty. In fact it left a 3mm square deep imprint in the side of my foot! This only affected my right foot and someone else would have no difficulty and be giving 5 stars. Personally I don't think it should be there as it is where a walker tends to flex the shoe the most.
I would not buy this shoe mail order and would be careful that it does not cause you any problems.
This issue withstanding it deserved a much higher score but after walking through the pain could not bring myself to go above 2 stars. When I can afford it I'll probably get the gore tex mohab shoes on which the last set did a 1000 miles.
This has now been worn a few times and is a well made comfortable shoe. Copes well with wet grass not yet tested is a downpour.
Well made but too narrow.
