A stylish down jacket that'll keep your cosy and warm whilst active, perfect for our cold winter months.

North Ridge's Hybrid Spirit Down Jacket will keep you warm and comfortable in colder conditions, without slowing you down.

Packed with a 90/10 hydrophobic goose down filling it will keep its loft even if it gets wet, so you'll be sure to stay warm when out in cold and damp weather.

It's been cut with an 'Active Fit' that closely follows the contours of your body and traps the heat closer to your core, while the targeted fill (more stuffing in core areas) ensures you retain the warmth where you need it most.

The side panels and underarms use Thermolite Pro S2 fabric which lets you flex and stretch without risk of exposure or heat loss. The stretch cuffs, adjustable hood, and the dropped back adjustable hem also make sure you remain totally covered.

With the ability to compress down to a manageable size it will take up very little pack space, ready to pull on at a moments notice.

Men's Clothing size guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Collar: Measure around the base of the neck where the collar sits.

Chest: Measure the chest at the fullest part, placing the tape close up under the arms.

Waist: Measure the natural waistline.

Inside Leg: Measure from the crotch to where your trouser is normally worn on the shoe.

Jacket Length: Measure from the centre back of your neck to your hemline. The length measurement will vary depending on the style.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Excellent

OK, I only bought it one week ago, but so far I am very impressed. Very comfortable and light weight, Hopefully I won't get the feather shedding problem!

Endless Feathers

Bought this jacket in November from the Pudsey store and was initially extremely pleased with the jacket. However, within a week of purchase, fine feathers appeared through multiple seams. Went to the shop in January and was told that this was wholly to be expected and was not likely to be a manufacturing fault but if I wanted to take it further I would have to hand in the jacket for assessment but was warned I would likely not be reimbursed. Given the impending weather I did not want to do this and so was told to come back after the cold weather.

While I expected the odd feather it seems ridiculous to have to accept a jacket with this issue. I notice from other reviews that other reviewers do not have this issue so this cannot be an issue in all jackets sold. If it is an issue, customers should be warned before purchase.

Would appreciate some comment and contact from Go Outdoors.

Outstanding Product

I have recently bought the North Ridge Hybrid Goose down and feather jacket in Rooibus Tea colour from Go Outdoors store in Newcastle. I have just returned from a nice walk along the seafront in temperatures of 4deg centigrade but feeling more like -4 deg. The jacket excelled my wildest expectations in that it was so warm over the top of a polyester polo neck jumper that I had to take it off when I got back to our car. It is so lightweight that if it was not for the beautiful and unusual colour you could be forgiven for thinking you didn’t have a jacket on at all. As for previous reviews suggesting feather loss, especially whilst wearing the jacket whilst driving the car, I have not experienced any such outcome. Would recommend this particular jacket for technical performances and value for money-well Done North Ridge.

Stylish jacket

Bought this jacket as a Xmas present for my husband. He absolutely loves it,It very stylish , comfortable, keeps you very warm and is snug and it’s very light and doesn’t feel bulky that you can’t move in it , (like you can’t with other jackets). . Would defiantly recommend this jacket and very reasonably priced too. 10 out of 10....

Great Jacket

Bought for my husband for a trip to the Alps. My husband wore it every day with a base layer and mid layer and the coldest day was -7. The jacket was extremely warm and dealt with removing sweat away from the body very well. No talk of feathers and didn't see any coming away. It didn't snow so not sure about how waterproof the jacket is but extremely warm and comparable to my Son's Rab which was over £100 more. Would recommend highly. Bought in Orange.

Very comfortable but not very warm at all even with 2 layers underneath, not water resistant and rips very easily

FEATHERS

I bought the jacket in September 2018 and am now sick of the sight of feathers. When I wear it in the car the back of my seat ends up covered in feathers and when I wear it in other peoples cars they always complain about the feathers I leave behind. It's a real shame because it is the warmest jacket I have ever owned. If it wasn't for the feathers I would say it's the best jacket I've ever owned and I am now regretting thinking I could put up with it and not returning it. I would stay away until this is sorted.

North ridge hybrid down

Having bought this jacket in replacement of an oex xenon down this out performs in every sence minimal down leak great water resistance looks great and incredibly warm well fitting and the stiffened peak helps keep rain out of your eyes paired with a good quality soft shell jacket and pant with good base layer perfect performance

Nice fitting jacket with serious drawback

I bought this jacket around 6 months ago. It fitted very well and apeared to be a great jacket for the price. However there is one major issue. It leaks feathers like crazy. Honestly after a short car journey I get out of the car and my seat is covered in feathers. They are always poking out of every seam. I take it off when I arrive at work, and my jumper is covered in feathers. Would avoid this jacket if I was purchasing again and pay a little bit more for something with better quality seams.

Hybrid Spirit Down Jacket

So far, so good. Have only given 4 stars because it hasn't been used in winter. Warm enough in the recent cold snap, so will update in the spring. Very comfortable with enough room for a T shirt & microfleece underneath [I'm a medium in size - 5ft 8in & 10 stone] Like the stretch cuffs & the drawstring in the pockets. Happy days!

Very Impressed

Last week I was working outdoors and snagged my Burghaus down jacket on a piece of metal. The rip is repairable, however I have had to order some patches. With the Beast from the East about to hit I was in need of another jacket but didn't want spend a fortune.

I did a bit of research on the Go Outdoors site and next day went to the my local (Exeter) branch.

The assistant I spoke to was helpful and in the end although I generally take XL size I went for XXL so I could layer up underneath.

The jacket fits well with decent sleeve length and has performed admirably over the last few days. It is warm with just a long sleeve T underneath. When the weather hit I added a micro-fleece and I have been completely toasty in all conditions.

I spent a fair bit of Thursday last and 6 hours on Friday outdoors and I haven't felt cold once.

In fact clearing snow I built up a good sweat.

As the weather changed and sleet and cold rain hit I have continued to wear the jacked and it has kept the water out. I suppose exposure in total has been about an hour and a half and since G O don't claim the jacket is water proof this is in my view very good performance.

Obviously I can't comment on how durable it is. There have only been a couple of stray features leaking and there are some odd loose threads. Nonetheless for the price it seems to be of decent quality.

Now to some plus points.

1. I am 6' 2" tall and the jacket covers my backside. This is good as so many jackets stop at the waist.

2. It comes with stick on patches, so if you get a tear it is possible to repair straight away. BONUS and a good addition.

Good for the price

A very good jacket for the price. Dropped a star due to not coming with a stuff sack. I brought mine to replace a worn out cheaper padded jacket from another well known high street outdoor shop which did come with a stuff sack.
Worn in the cold and wind but yet to test in the rain. I'm not expecting it to keep my dry in prolonged periods of rain but should at least fend off a light shower.

Tight under my arms

My research led me to believe this was the perfect jacket for me. When I first tried it on, the fit, the appearance and the hood all seemed perfect and I was really pleased. After a few minutes I became aware that it was extremely tight under my arms. I tried many other jackets and none had this problem. I was very disappointed that I could not buy it. 2* for me but possible 5* for others.

Great jacket for the price.

Bought this down/hybrid jacket in the sale. Really surprised at the level of performance. I had a little down loss in the first few days as would be expected but that soon stopped. Incredibly warm and comfortable. The hood fits well and pulls in snugly. The hem draw strings inside the deep handwarmer pockets are a very neat feature. Highly recommended product.
