Don't buy - fails quite quickly and adjustment options poor.
Added one to my Bossnut Evo and it’s transformed an already brilliant bike especially climbing up hills. Very easily set up without the need to cut the cable. Works reliably even in extreme mud.
I've had this seat post for a few month, I would not recommend it, initially it seemed great and worked well for the first week, since then I have gone through 6 cables, they all keep snapping. Raleigh (rsp) customer services have told me that they are aware of an issue with them seizing due to water ingress and dirt getting past the seat, yeah also told me they are not serviceable and not can be done about it other than return it to store, my local store threw away my old seatpost when fitting this at my 6wk check, so I don't have a spare post to put on, and my local store have told me to contact rsp to get this replaced. So don't know what to do as I'm left with a product that isn't fit for purpose.
This is one of the lowest priced dropper posts on the market, so it’s never going to be the best. It’s a bit heavier, it’s not the quickest. But it does what it’s supposed to, is easy to fit and adjust. Seat clamp is two bolts and solid. Bit of play in the remote switch, but again is solid.
Lasted less than 100 miles off road. Post wouldn't stay up, . Striped it down as much as I could, couldn't fix or find the cause of the issue, returned
to store. Plan to replace with something that has at least a service manual. Worked well while it was working.
Excellent, easy to fit, works well
Holds the seat a lot more securely than my last budget post and works very smoothly. Did have an issue in the first set up (cable snapped) but easily fixed. 125mm travel so gets the seat out of the way! Excellent price and price matched (so even cheaper than advertised). Is heavy, but worth the trade-off. Four stars because of weight and initial issues with setting up.
I was looking for a good 30.9, 125mm dropper on a budget and had read some good reviews for the RSP on other sites.
I first used the Price Match feature which saved me an additional 10% less than Tredz so got the post for much less; and fitted it straight away.
The twin bolt secures the seat with no movement and the post has stood up to several rides now with faultless performance. The movement is smooth and there is no lateral post movement so far.
Extremely glad I went for this; if you are looking for a good post but not willing to pay the ridiculous premium for a Reverb or similar; I would highly recommend you give the RSP a punt as it is available both external and internal.
I have not stopped smiling on the bike since it was fitted.
I've stayed with Do Outdoors and fitted one to my Bossnut. I enjoy my biking more than ever. From getting there to drop offs the transition is flawless and quick.
it does what it says on the tin and worth every penny
Only had it for a couple of days, and never owned a dropper post before - so take all of this with a pinch of salt! Go outdoors will be living up to their good customer service standards if it fails!
Genuinely tho this is a brilliant bit of kit - nice smooth operation both up and down and no wobbles. Weight - it's not that heavy as to make any real difference, but you will notice the improvement on descents and cornering.
For the money - it's worth more than price paid in smiles alone. Get one :)
Have had this dropper post fitted to my calibrate bossnut for about 6 weeks now and it has performed flawlessly.
Took minutes to set up with split lever clamp. All I have done is give it a quick squirt of silicone spray before every ride and pops up and down easily. Friends have rochshox reverbs which cost 3 times the price and no difference in performance. Get one you won't be disappointed.
Still going strong after 4 years. Cable changed and post lubricated.
