Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Excellent Boot - light & very comfortable

I bought these especially for a recent walk round the TMB (solo & carrying tent etc). I wanted something with more ankle support than a shoe, but lighter than full leather boots. They were perfect!

Amazing

These boots are Amazing super comfortable straight out of the box by far the most comfy boots I have ever had, they are more like slippers than boots. I normally suffe with blisters but not 1 in these

Soggy socks

Super comfy boots that fit me perfectly, but I've had two pairs which both leaked badly after a few weeks use.

Asolo Falcon Boot

Very good lightweight boot. Only given 4 stars as Haven't had them very long but expect 5 stars. However if you go through laces beware as these are very small diameter and Go Outdoors don't stock them and advise contacting Asolo. Excellent aftercare!!

Fantastic

Awesome boots, just back from a very wet weekend in the peaks. Extremely comfy straight out of the box. Light but well supported and not in any way flimsy. Spent 5 hrs in the driving rain on kinder scout and feet dry and warm. Couldn't be happier. Well worth every penny

Very comfortable

I have only walked in the boot a couple of times but they are fantastically comfortable and very light. Expensive but very happy

Very happy with these boots.

Have only really ever used leather Scarpas but wanted boots for the warmer months that wouldn't cook my feet and these fit the requirement perfectly.
These are very light and really comfortable out of the box and the soles give good traction on a number of surfaces, although I'm not so convinced the cleats are self clearing. They are like wearing a pair of slippers they are so comfortable and although my feet still sweat in them they still feel good.
Having worn them in wet boggy conditions I have found them to be waterproof. And finally they are a good looking boot which I expect to get decent service out of.

Should have gone for Salomon

Took these out of the box, laced them up and went on a 20+ mile yomp around the Wales coast path from Rhossili to Langland bay. A beautiful walk. Mostly wet weather, slick rocks, mud and sand but I was not concerned as these were brand new and according to these and other reviews, a great bit of kit. They are certainly lightweight, they are pretty comfortable too out of the box but the biggest downside was the grip and the weatherproofing. I was slipping all over the place with these, I appreciate the conditions were not perfect, but a good test of a boot. Mud was ok until the lugs clogged, and like any boot in that situation didn't grip too well. Over wet rock they were not what I was used to with my Salomons, maybe they need bedding in, but after a few slips I became very cautious of the grip, they were even slippy on wet paving slabs. So a bit disappointed by the grip but not as much as the complete lack of waterproofing. About 8 miles in, after walking over Oxwich bay to Tor Bay, about a mile of low tide sand and puddles my feet were squelching and I had not been in water over my ankle by any stretch. When I stopped to sort them out I poured water out of the right boot wringed out the sock and then carried on. The left was a bit better but still wet inside. By the end of the walk and only wet grass and fern as an obstacle, more water was emptied out. There appeared to be no beading on the fabric at all. When they are dry, 1 day and counting, I shall try the beading test. Gore-Tex advised I take them back to Go Outdoors. I have never ever had such a poor performance from a boot in the past and I have been walking for many years in more testing conditions than the Gower Peninsula. So I will dry them out and see what Go Outdoors suggest. But for now I am not very confident of the quality. Maybe they were a Friday afternoon pair. Lets hope so. 1 star for lightness and 1 for comfort when they were not wet through.

Fantastic Boot

So, I have just completed the Cateran Yomp which is a 54 mile yomp around the Perthshire Countryside. Conditions were wet, boggy and a mixture of country, road and sheep tracks. It also chucked it down a couple of times. Now, why did I write the above? Well, to give you a picture of where the boots have been and conditions they were subjected to.

Waterproofing: Although my feet were wet, this was to be expected considering i was walking in ankle to knee deep bogs but they weren't sodden. They did hold back a lot of moisture but i didn't have the squelching as you'd expect when water has compromised the boot.

Comfort: What can i say?? I trained in these boots from day one of purchase and they are by far the most comfortable boot I have worn (better than my HanWags and Scarpa). You do get a sense that you are wearing a very light pair of trainers. I tried another innersole but seemed to get blisters so, i kept the manufactured inners (no blisters...even after 54 miles...yes, i taped up the heels as you should!).

Price: Totally worth the price for an excellent boot.

Durability: After covering many miles on all terrain, the boots haven't split. The soles of the boot are still in good shape and there is no wear on the grip area. Will need to reapply some waterproofing but that is as per any boot.

Overall, very, very impressed with this boot and can't thank the store in Basingstoke for the recommendation...it was a foot saver!!

Excellent boots

Just got back into walking and wanted some decent books and bought these from the Blackburn store. 12 miles first time out and like carpet slippers. A few more walks and then last weekend 2 Lake district 2500 feet climbs with no problems. Highly recommend

Great boots

Looking for some new boots and wanted some mid-range ones. However I tried these on and found them so comfortable that I decided to spend the extra money as I have some pretty hard walking planned over the next year or 2. Tried them over 6-7 miles today and no problems at all. Great feel, look good and I like the feel of the soles on the ground. Worth the money so far.
