NOT so instant
Absolutely rubbish left my son and me with no BBQ for our camping trip. Would definitely not recommend unless you have extra fire-lighters. :(
Not quite so instant lighting charcoal
Lit bag as instructed and it literally did just that ! After a couple of minutes at the most the bag had burnt away and the charcoals were not lit or even warm in the slightest ! Luckily after some tricky moves with a gas torch from under the air vents in the bbq and from above I managed to get them lit appropriately. They worked perfectly after that but don’t expect much from them, they mirrored a small foil tray disposable bbq cooking time/ area.
Non-starter
Bought these bags to help start my barbecue. In the store several were ripped already, so I carefully selected bags which were intact. One home one of the bags had torn in transit making a mess on the floor.
One lit, these appeared to contain small briquettes, not lumpwood, which did not burn in the slightest - only toe exposed part of the bag burned - the part underneath the coals didn't even stay lit.
I had to resort to lighting cubes which worked as they should. These Go Outdoors bags are a rip-off!
Impossible if any wind
We bought several of these bags thinking they would be convenient. However if there is any wind then the bag just goes out or smokes. The only way I got these alight was to place some of the coals on our gas cooker to light them. Even once all the flames went out, the coals weren't very hot and I could taste the accelerant. I will go back to using regular charcoal and fire lighters
Perfect for portable BBQs
Took these with us camping and they were just the right quantity for our small portable bbq enabling us to cook all we needed. They lit pretty easily but they do need to be shaken up and the charcoal loosened before you try to light them.
Poor Product
Bought several of these bags to take camping, none worked.
Followed instructions on bag and lighted as instructed, nothing happened!
Please do not buy - waste of money
Lit the bags, turned around and the bags had burnt and that was it!! No bbq and 3 hungry and unhappy grandkids. Luckily I was able to go and buy firelighters to get charcoal burning.
Will not buy these again
