As others have said, good edge, light and cheap. I've made mine a legal carry (I think) by grinding the bowie point down a few mm (shorten to <76mm) and removing the locking ring. A little less safe, but less chance of getting locked up in the UK!

Great knife... sharp and light
Good quality knife at a good price - very sharp and nice and light. Locking feature means it won't accidentally open in a bag or pocket.
Just a nice simple quality product!

Does what it says, basic little well made knife.
Takes and holds an edge easily. Ideal camping, picnic knife.
Not the most robust but for the price, they are great wee knives. Keep dry tho, as the beech handle will swell if allowed to get wet.

Classic no frills knife
I have been using Opinal since 1976 when I first climbed Mt. Blanc. They are simple, unfussy, no gadgets, just a sharp blade and cheap enough to replace if you lose or abuse them.
The No. 8 is the ideal size for an alpinist, small enough to fit in a pocket and sharp enough to "cut away" if needed.
Just remember NOT to immerse them in water because the beer handle will swell and make opening/closing difficult or impossible, just wipe the blade.

Great slicing knife, needs a little work on a fine stone (600grit) to make it shaving sharp. I prefer the carbon steel ones to the Inox (stainless steel) mainly because they take a much better edge and are a lot easier to sharpen...wont get a better sharp slicing knife for the money...oh! Great for wood carving and whittling too

A well made all-round great knife, with handy locking mechanisms that make it's use even better! Well worth the money.
