We took our time to pick the right bag, we tried a range of different styles and sizes. This bag is far the best from the rest. Also what attracted our eye was the price tag. Well recommended
Amazing
Bought it for DofE silver and is amazing. Works very well and good space.
Brought for the son doing D of E Silver. He was worried that he would not have enough room for his food. This rucksack is fab, all the kit, comfortable on his shoulders, sits nice on hips with the easy adjustment and the bonus he can get all his food in.
Used it for a week the west highland way and it was loaded with 30kg. Even with such excessive weight it was comfortable to wear and I had no problems with it. Highly recommended.
Great all round backpack. Plenty of room in it and seems well put together. Feels comfortable when full and can be adjusted very well to fit. Side pouches are a bit slim, but other than that it is spot on. Brilliant value for money.
I wore this ruck for three days, as I walked and wild camped two nights 51 miles through Dartmoor.
I was over max capacity on the bag - and ended up strapping extra stuff onto the outside, for a total of about 25Kg at the start. I finished the hike with 21.5Kg in the pack.
Compared to my friends EuroHike 65L (£50) pack this one is totally superior. The adjustment works and the metal rails work really well at moving the weight to a good place. The straps are attached properly with good layout so they stay in their intended shape.
5/5 This bag will be hiking with me for a long time
I have not taken this out hiking so do not know it's carrying characteristics. I did go to pack it with equipment for a solo camp first putting the sleeping bag in. The zippered compartment at the the bottom is big enough for all the kit and the reason being that it is not divided from the rest of the bag which I was very surprised at. If you take your sleeping bag out, then everything above it falls to the bottom. I don't know about you but when I have set up tent, I don't automatically empty the whole bag. What are Vango thinking of? This is supposed to be an expedition bag.......There are three pockets on the bag, two side and one front( not counting the pocket in the lid. When the bag is full there is very little room in these so called pockets to fit much. I think the old fashioned external pockets would be much better fitted to this bag. Another bag bites the dust. I would not recommend this bag. This one is going back for a refund.
Went travelling in America for 3 months and so wanted a bag with a large volume capacity-this was absolutely perfect! Very comfortable to carry, lots of useful pockets-we'll see how it copes with UK hiking and camping. I have had the bag less than 6 months and there is some minor wear and tear but nothing in the way of preventing its function-let's hope it stays that way! So far so good!
This product was definitely fit for purpose for my 15 year old son. His previous rucksack was at least ten years old and second hand. He had managed to get through his bronze and silver practice but as it was falling apart and my son said he also wanted to complete the gold award, I thought a new bigger rucksack was appropriate. The ruck sack was a good size and he had plenty of room to add tents and cooker. As soon as my son had it fitted to his back he noticed how comfortable it was, he liked the small pocket on the waist belt which fitted a snack. The waterproof cover was very useful too. My son said his expedition was much easier with such a comfortable bag and we were very pleased with the buy.
