Glad we got it

Extra room is a real plus for our Higear eclipse 6.
Currently in the S. of France, real plus specially when it's raining. When can relax and eat comfortably while kids play in the other room.

Did the job

A little gutted to see it's about £30 cheaper than when I bought it only three weeks ago, but did the job that's required, allowing plenty more living space in the tent itself. As per some of the comments, the instructions are quite enigmatic, and you are best just working it out yourself.

What’s the point if it can’t be used in wind

As per a couple of other reviews, do not use in windy conditions... I’ve used many tent/porch configurations over the years and never had an issue, until 2:30am this weekend, awoke and left the tent to find the wind had blown the porch over, found this strange and upon trying to put it back up noticed that one of both the front and back poles had snapped where the poles connect to each other... packed the porch away and now need to spice new poles if I want to reuse... other than the weak design this was a fantastic addition to the tent and added a dry area to remove wet clothing and muddy shoes and also do the cooking... what a shame!

Got the bundle on this tent after seeing it built up in branch without the porch, made up when it was all together, the extra room is fantastic and the porch is very solid and secure, very happy

Perfect porch!

We’ve just returned from a week’s camping and it’s the first time we’ve used the porch. I didn’t think initially we’d need it but after struggling for space last year without it I bought one. I’m really pleased with it! It really has made the tent complete having that extra space to cook in out the way of everything else making so much more space. It’s not the easiest thing to put up but then it’s not difficult either, it’s just the fact it’s not free standing like the tent so you really need two of you. Overall very pleased with it!

Flimsy cheap material

We bought the porch as part of a promotion when buying our tent. Due to the size we’ve only been able to use it 3 times due to the pitch sizes on the campsites we’ve been to. The third time was this weekend where the porch has come back in tatters. The windows have spilt and torn on both sides! Luckily our friends had some duct tape with them which we had to used to patch them up. In comparison to the quality of the tent the porch is extremely poor. So disappointing as it actually creates a fab cooking and storage space. So frustrating that it’s now useless after just 3 uses!

Voyager elite 6 porch

Great additional to a fabulous tent. The porch gives additional space for a longer break away and keeps the living space clean and dry during inclement weather. Straight forward to put up and attach to the tent. A must have for any families using the voyager elite 6 tent.

Great addition to the tent

Love the fact it is a canopy with a closed door. Easy to secure to tent.

Amazing Addition

We've had ours for 2 years now, easy to put up and adds a nice extra space to cook in etc front comes completely off if you like to have it all open.

Well worth getting as an extra for your tent got ours as part of a bundle so even better Value for money.

Will be enjoying ours again this summer.
Thank you to all the staff at Blackburn Store always so helpful and smiling.

Elite Voyager Porch

OMG - This porch is amazing. It is easy to put up and adds approximately 1.5/2m to our tent - which is an ideal cooking area. It does look flimsy compared to the tent (even with the heavy poles), however I was proved wrong this weekend, where it withstood heavy rain and gale force 8 winds. Full marks - would certainly recommend!

Elite porch

Bought this porch online to enhance the Elite voyager 6 tent we'd bought and used twice.First, had to collect from the UK mail depot and found they'd destroyedthe packaging it came in.Second,on trying to erect it,found the instructions totally inadequate.Bearing in mind I'm no novice at setting up tents, this took three of us and nearly as much time as it takes to erect the main tent for not much more space.Third,no ground sheet,Fourth,on dismantling we found one of the links between the metal poles had broken.

Would I recommend this?....maybe..I bought it as cooking space and use as an entrance when the weather's inclement...however I do consider it's overpriced relative to the main tent.

Good extra space

Steel poles instead of carbon, goes up easy enough if you put the poles in then lean it on the tent and secure the (adjusted) mega guy rope to the tent then walk it out and peg the large flat guy ropes in, because of the front of the voyager not being square you only really gain about 1.5 metres towards the front but plenty room to take off shoes or towel the dog off, only 3 stars due to having to customise a tarp to make a groundsheet for it, and dispite lengthy adjustment it just never seems as tight and secure as id like, haven't used it in windy conditions but wouldn't say it was anywhere near as sturdy as the tent

Great for extra space, but with flaws

Good points - Extra space, stops rain going into the tent through the front door is open

Bad points - harder to put up than the tent as it does not stand up on its own until all guide ropes are pegged out. Not clear where to put the hooked guy rope as it is far to long, and hooks don't fit tightly around anything, poles to long or material to short leaving a gap at the bottom, fluorescent straps at the front don't seem to have a purpose as they don't reach the ground even when fully extended, so just flap around.

Although I have listed more negatives than positives, the positives outweigh the negatives and it is a valuable addition to our camping equipment, and so we live with its flaws.

Great for extra space but a few issues

We bought this porch to give us a space for cooking and a wet area for shoes etc. we are really pleased with the extra space freeing up the tent for relaxing etc. however the porch is a lot more difficult to put up than the tent, it is not clear where to put the hooked guy ropes and the poles are clearly not the correct size - if one side of the porch fits down to the grass then the other side doesn't - it appears the poles need shortening . Also when you zip up the door, it he material is very taught in places.

voyager 6 porch

We love our porch for that extra space, we use ours as a kitchen and dining area. We have experienced high winds and the porch was fine, yes the gap at the bottom is very draughty, I am putting a fitted ground sheet in ours for our next holiday to solve the problem of draughts.

good but could be improved

We absolutely love our voyager elite 6 and got the porch recently as additional space. It really was great to have the extra room and messy area for the dog and kids (without messing up the tents carpet)
Easy to put up. Perfect as a sun canopy in nice weather. I wouldnt be without it now but I've had to take off 2 stars for its bad points
unlike the tent it can't withstand it.
Guide ropes mostly hold it up and an elastic part which slips over the main tent. During rain and wind conditions I was out at 3am slipping the elastic back over the tent and panicking as it kelt coming off. It needs eye holes that it dosent have in the sides as the wind gets under it and lifts it up causing the elasticated bit to pop off. Not good.

2) I paid 120 for my porch in an offer and I think it's over priced compared to the tent

Don't use if it's windy

We bought the extension to go with our less than a year old voyager 6 tent as it had been out of stock when we purchased the tent. The first time we used the extension was April this year on our first camping trip of the year. Everything was fine up until Sunday evening when we came back from the event we were attending to find the wind had caught under the extension and had tipped our whole tent backwards and on top of a barbed wire fence. Surprisingly the extension survived better than the tent did! (We only lost the zip off door which had blown away and customer services are unable to order us a replacement as they don't stock spares for tents) The tent itself was shredded by the fence and again customer services were unable to help. So although the extension is great if there's no wind, if the weathers bad it's pointless and could even ruin your tent and holiday

Brilliant after modification

I Bought the extension after weeks and weeks of no stock although once stock became available i pounced on it. Assembly was straight forward and quality is good like the Voyager 6 elite tent, gives a lot more added room, only issue was the huge gap around the bottom due to the poles being too long, after cutting around 4 inches off the poles and re inserting the bungs the clearance is spot on (please note this will void the warranty if done yourself) but well worth it

Great extension Highly recommended

This is a great extension to the voyager elite 6 allowing a dry area to de-kit from your wet stuff and keep the inside of the tent dry and clean. Also good to store wellies/bikes and cooking equipment. I would highly recommend people buying this in addition to the voyager elite.
On the down sides it is not the easiest to erect definitely requires a minimum of 2 people, it is bulky packed up with heavy poles and there is a large gap between the ground and front wall (not quite sure why it needs to be so high off the ground). Wouldn't be without it now.
