Awful - impossible to fill or clean and tastes awful

Impossible to fill without using 2 hands, ended up with soaked feet as you can't turn the tap on and off. Won't fill fully as stays stuck together. Also very hard to pour water out again. Awful taste.

Terrible water taint

Tried using this but as the other reviewers have said it makes the water taste terrible. I didn't look at these reviews until after I had bought it in the shop and used it. It's going in the bin

Unuseable

Unuseable, 1st use it was terrible, we were camping in the middle of nowhere and were sick after it, tried to get rid of the TCP taste and smell including as a last resort sanitiser but now in the bin

Reluctant to give 1 star!

Agree with other reviews. I tried many different ways of washing it out but you just can’t get rid of the horrendous chemical taste. Even after boiling water numerous times it’s foul tasting.

what can you use this water carrier for.

This product does carry water without any leaks. The problem is what the water is used for.
Washing up while camping - Fine
For Drinking - Avoid, water tastes horrible even after numerous rinsing.

Not great

Looked like it would be great, but it is difficult to fill and, despite several washes with warm water as suggested, water always has an anticeptic taste. The tap leaked too.

Awful water

DON'T waste your money, if you're planning on using this to transport potable water. Despite washing it out several times prior to first use the water still tasted awful

Hi-gear 10l roll up water carrier

A good design and easy to fill and use but strong taste of chlorine despite rinsing before use- hopefully will disappear with time

Roll up water carrier

Still washing it out a week later , water tastes horrible

Undrinkable

Washed out many times and even dosed it with Milton but to no avail. Even tried to make tea after boiling it but the taste of plastic still clings. A cheap product that will carry 10 litres so I suppose it will pass the Trades Description Act as they don't claim it is for drinking water, hence the single star.

C'mon Go Outdoors, this is not a product you should be associated with.

Do not buy

Waste of money, do not buy. Washed out numerous occasions as per direction and still tastes disgusting. Ruined squash and coffees.

Terrible product

I bought this product, so subsequently hadn’t read the reviews. I wish I had. The water that you get from this carrier is undrinkable. Despite washing it with warm soapy water it leaves a horrible chemical taste. My children couldn’t drink their squash. Me and my husband couldn’t drink our coffee. Absolutely waste of money. Do not buy.

Roll up smelly water carrier.

Come on Hi gear, read these reviews and use different plastic, it tastes disgusting, is difficult to fill and empty, despite being a good idea. Another opening at the top would make it much easier to fill, as it is it is very difficult and you waste water and get wet.

Cheap and cheerful

Pros: it's lightweight and rolls very small when empty. We use this at festivals where you have to carry anything you're camping with for miles, and in my tiny car space is at a premium.

Cons: difficult to fill from taps, slow water flow from the tap (I resorted to removing the cap and pouring the water out).

Terrible product

As other reviewers found, carrier leaves water with a horrible, chemically taste despite rinsing many times with hot water before use. Very disappointed with the product and will be returning to the store.

Terrible

Wish I'd read these reviews before I bought this. Makes the water taste horrible

Get what you pay for

Cheap and nasty makes water taste like plastic, better off spending more as this is surely bad for your health and makes water taste disgusting. Never had a plastic flavour cup of tea before!

Hi Gear water roll

This product is not fit for purpose!

The carrier was washed with warm water 3 or 4 times as per Hi-Gear instructions.
This did not take away the smell nor the vile taste the plastic imparted into the water, which we unfortunately did not discover until the tent was pitched in Scotland.

The carrier was used once and promptly thrown in the bin.

Shocking

After rinsing out >10x, still contaminates the water with a pungent plastic taste. It's got to be bad for you & Go Outdoors clearly have no respect for their customers health.
