Bought a pair of these before Christmas, one for each of my two boys. Oddly enough, I paid EXACTLY the same price as the "Sale" price... that's not much of a sale is it?
Caught loads of mackerel on these in stone pier,abbots-bury weymouth.just change the line to 15lb with sabikis as well and set to go.
Very pleased with these rods! To say the least ...changed the line obvs lol to 15lb and the rod actually caught me an 11lb carp! Cracking for the price as well kids love them!
Bought 2 of these to try fishing with wife & kids. We used lures and a 2oz weight. We could cast it about 25m into the sea (against the wind) and caught 10 mackerel in about an hour. Very pleased!
For £10 you really can't go wrong with this combo.
The line it comes loaded with isn't good quality but is easily change.
The reel lets a bit of line off when you wind in but this isn't a big deal
Great rod and reel for absolute pennies! I did swap the line for some 6lb mono and use it for perch on the lures,Can't fault it.
I have caught 2 pike, both 3lb and also perch to 2lbs. This was my first rod and I think it is great for the price
Brilliant for beginners. I've been fishing every other week for about a year now and I still have and use this rod and reel combo. I have caught loads of decent sized fish on this. Change the line tho
The line gets caught in the mechanism of the reel.
Bought this as a cheap disposable combo .... But was really impressed with the rod... Has a decent action and caught 4 perch and a couple of dace on its first outing.... Line needs replacing ASAP!
Couldn't recommend this more, I've caught 4 pound pike and trout on this rod (and even hoisted the trout up a waterfall) the reel line is rubbish and needs changing from the outset, great rod though.
I combo it as a main rod with a dywa reel. I've had nearly 20 pound carp and it took me 30 seconds to land . Ive had pike, chub, roach, rudd, tench(gold as well),cruisian, perch, owned 8 years and prestine
Excellent rod for fishing small streams and rivers, i use it for brown trout fishing and waggler for roach, just needs fresh line as most reels do and you are good to go, had mine for 4 years
I bought 2 of these for my daughters to use (with my guidance) and both reels, within minutes, had jammed because the line came off and got tangled within the mech. I fixed both but it happened again.
Fantastic product especially for the price. Perfect for our camping and boat trips.
This rod is great
I originally got it for dropshoting but it's a little too big for that, not a bad thing it will be a small lure rod for me I enjoy using this rod bit will need a new line for the reel
Absolute steal! Ive been using this rod with a different reel with braided line for pike on canals.. dead baiting and lures cant go wrong.. used for a bit of boat spinning for bike aswell.
I purchased this particular combo a couple of years ago and have used it extensively for catching small bass, I found the line was inadequate so put on a bigger reel and line with 20lb mono. Not had much big on it yet but have fun using it as a fun back up in the surf at Dungeness between my two 15 footers. All gonna try using it for mackerel next year very versatile little set! Love it !!
Brought this rod for my nephew ideal for a new starter he needed one that he can take camping so a great when space is limited in the car
This is a great first rod its light weight, but the one bad side is that the line does get stuck in the mechanism of the reel i also bought another rod which was more expensive and this was better. :)
