It's the Service that Counts

The product is widely known and very popular because it's a well designed and manufactured product.

But where to buy it? I chose Go Outdoors because the price was a no brainer but I braced myself ready for a disappointing service ... oh how wrong was I?

Go Outdoors excelled. They were exceptionally easy to deal with, trouble free and very very quick; totally fantastic.

I'll open my wallet again for these Guys.

Scarpa Vapour V

I’ve had vapour V’s before. These seem to have slightly different last & pinch my little toe more than previous ones so I’ve had to go a half size up.
They are comfortable for an Asymetric but not so comfortable that I could wear them all day (still looking for a shoe I can!).
I’ve used them twice at the wall & they performed well & as I expected, twice on grit (Stanage) & they worked well however I used them on limestone (Staden Quarry) & they didn’t handle the polished slopers too well, however edging on small sharp holds was fine.
Overall quality of construction is excellent.

Great shoes

Love these! They fit really well (even though I'm a half size with narrow feet) and have been sticky and excellent to climb in. The aggressive shape is great for toe work. They rubbed at the back initially, but this went away after 2/3 sessions.

Best Shoes So Far

I bought these after the store I visited didn't have the La Sportiva Miura VS in my size, and I didn't want to wait. I can happily say I wasn't disappointed.

The Vapours are very comfortable shoe, providing I take them off for a couple of minutes every hour, I can wear them all day without any discomfort. The rubber sole is very stiff, making it brilliant for edging, but I found it did slip a little on some of the sharper smears. The toe is nice and sharp which makes it brilliant for precise foot placements, and the velcro makes them very easy to adjust/remove as necessary.

I've had these shoes for about a month now, and they haven't stretched at all, so be sure not to buy them too small. They also have a tendency to dig in around the back of the angle, but they don't leave anything more than a red mark so you shouldn't have to worry about blisters. I'm sure a bit of finger tape would solve that problem, though. If you've had trouble with your climbing shoes smelling, you should be pleasently surprised.

After a month of intensive use, my Vapours haven't absorbed any foot odour at all, without the need for any preventative measures. I imagine this is owing to the fact that they don't have a cotton lining like my last pair. They also leave my feet orange after use, but that shouldn't be an issue if you're looking for a performance shoe.

Overall, I am extremely happy with these shoes. They have been my best pair yet (I still think I'm gonna give the Miuras a go after I've worn these out, though).
