This is an under-groundsheet layer for the Hi Gear Kalahari 8 Tent.
This keeps your groundsheet clean and protects it from abrasion, rips and tears that may occur on rough ground.
The footprint should be covered completely by the tent to prevent rain from pooling underneath your groundsheet.

Good
Makes pitching the tent and taking it down easier. Keeps the underside of the tent clean.
It's worthwhile getting this as part of the bundle even if only to protect the bottom of the tent.
I disagree with the reviewer who said it doesnt need pegging down. Wind does blow under this depending on where you are pitched and that ripples the tent floor which in turn moves the carpet around.
I replaced the pegs with proper plastic groundsheet round ones which dont cause damage or stick out.
It kept the bottom of the tent a little dryer but a lot of rain did get in underneath - but it was very windy!
Personally I feel it needs more eyelets and one of my projects for next season is to get an eyelet punch and put some in. It needs at least 1 in the middle of each short edge and 2 more in each long one.
I WOULD RECOMMEND BUYING THIS FOOTPRINT AS IT DOES ITS JOB VERY WELL. IT KEEPS YHE TENT MOSTLY DRY. ONLY VERY EDGES OF TENT MY NEED DRYING.
I AM ABOUT TO BUY ANOTHER AS THE MOUSE IN MY LOFT DECIDED TO EAT A CHUNK OUT OF THE ONE I HAD.
DOES IT MATTER IF EYELETS GO WEAK ? NO IT DOES NOT. YOU CAN STILL USE THIS FOOTPRINT WITHOUT PEGS. THE WEIGHT OF YOUR TENT WITH ALL YOUR CAMPING EQUIPMENT INSIDE WILL ENSURE IT STAYS WHERE IT IS.
I HAD NOT PEGGED MY FOOTPRINT INTO GROUND BOTH TIMES I USED IT , JUST IN CASE TOPS OF PEGS DAMAGED GROUNDSHEET OF TENT.
PEOPLE WORRY A BIT TOO MUCH ABOUT PEGGING IT DOWN SO MUCH SO THEY BIN IT IF THEY CANT.
I WAS IN SNOWDONIA A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, THERE WERE GALE FORCE WINDS, MY UN PEGGED FOOTPRINT WENT NO WHERE.
IGNORE THE IMAGE USED IN THE PRODUCT INFO THOUGH, THE PICTURE MAKES IT LOOK MULTI LAYERED WHILEST IN USE, ITS NOT, ITS SINGLE LAYERED. SOMEONE HAD PUT A FOLDED ONE UNDERNEATH THE EDGE OF THE TENT FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES.
Did its job just a pity it had to be binned after second use due to eye holes not been strong enough
The footprint serves the purpose that the product description outlines. However, for the price I would have expected the quality and strength of the eyelets to have been better. Ours have torn after only two uses.
Just got back from a week away in the Peak District and used the foot print for the first time.with the weather not being great, the foot print helped greatly when taking the tent down.no wiping mud and grass off the bottom of the tent before packing it away, just a muddy footprint that got hosed down and hung over the washing line when we got back!
Bought the footprint as a edition to the rest of the kalahari products, done its job as the bottom of the tent was bone dry and clean,
Just perfect for the damp grass, kept the tent etc. dry erecting and taking down. A must!
Fantastic, used first time last weekend had lots of rain, and the bottom of tent stayed dry and clean. Still loads of life left in it too so looking forward to our next holiday its a must have to pro long the life of your tent.
