Why are people writing poor reviews when they have purchased the wrong peg. These pegs should not be hammered. Designed for soft ground such as sand. Pegs without ripple should be used on hard ground.
Good pegs. Hold the ground well.
One was the lowest I could rate! Don't waste your money on these. They do not have a big enough lip to serve any purpose and they are very soft metal so no use whatsoever
Very poor quality
Bent as soon as hammering in and taking out after
Waste of 2.99
Do not buy these pegs
Needs improvement
Tent pegs that bend as soon as you hit them with a mallet. Would assume they would be great for sand but not a lot else.
Well that's £2.99 I'm not getting back!
It may just be that the ground was too hard but managed to bend all but 1 in the pack. I'll be spending more on something substantial next time!
Purchased these as considered to be stronger than those supplied with the tent. Sadly they bend extremely easily and had to give up using them, no matter what the ground was like!! I assume made from a very poor grade steel.
An improvement to the pegs supplied with the tent but a little thicker would be perfect.
Used these for the first time yesterday, they worked perfectly for my 3mX4.5m tarp. The ripple design grips well even in sandy soil and with the wind catching my tarp and pulling at odd angles they still didn't budge. Easy to pull out in the right direction an easily to quickly clean off excess soil. Heavier than your typical pegs but so worth that weight in terms of performance
Very good tent pegs went through stones really well and very strong and I went and bought some more
Used In hight wind stayed put but bid bend easy
Bought these for our tunnel tent, as we were camping in a farmers field which last year there were a lot of stones, they went into the ground with no problems
These pegs buckle like tinfoil when hit with a mallet , even in soft soil.
wish i had read the reviews before buying these now a bit miffed oh well as they say you get what you pay for
Talked to a member of staff told them we were going camping in rocky conditions - recommended to use these pegs - first try on a soft lawn- peg bent over, didnt try any more- useless - good job I had some spate steel pegs to use
Not a lot of steel in these pegs - dont waste ur money
Worst Tent pegs ever. One Tap with Rubber Mallet and they bent. Would not recommend. Pay a little more for better quality. I only bought them as I always like a few spares.went straight in BIN as they was all buckled. Dinner fork would of held better
Bit confused by the poor reviews, ripple pegs are to be used in sand. Designed to give friction so wont pull out easily, but also means that if you are trying to put into soil or have to hammer in then yes they will bend !!
I brought 3 packs of these to use instead of pegs that came with tent, thinking they would be more secure. Well they did secure the tent, mainly because half of them buckled once tapped with a mallet (even at the correct angle), meaning they formed a v locking the guy lines in. unfortunately when removing the pegs it was evident not more than 5 out of the 30 were in a re-usable condition.
My conclusion is that these are no better than the wire pegs that come with the tent. If you are going to upgrade, save some money in the long run and pay the bit extra for more durable ones that you will not have to replace after each trip
Used in relatively soft ground and every single one caved in.
