Superb quality and does what it says

I bought this oven to improve the catering at our motorcycle club rallies . Excellent purchase. The only problem is that the butane canisters need warming up if the weather is on the chilly side.

A may zzzzing

If you are thinking about getting one, stop. Just buy it.

Chicken Kiev’s, garlic bread, pizza, halloumi fries? All possible! The lightweight oven is really easy to move around. Get one.

Great Product! Does Exactly What You’d Hope!

Fantastic portable oven, internally about 12” wide so a 10” pizza will fit in although you may need a 10” pizza tray. Oven heats very fast. Uses about 1/3 220g bottle per .5 hour running. Very pleased

Bought one of these the other day, cooked a full chicken and a pizza later on one canister with about a fifth of the gas left, highly delighted, recommend it for camping, chuffed to bits 5 stars

shelves fall down

anything on the bottom shelf whether on a backing tray or straight on the shelf will burn, there's not adequate heat distribution/space between the element and this shelf. AND the top shelf will fall out with any weight on it at all, so really terribly designed product - AVOID

Ok but not brilliant

There are a few reasons why i have given this oven 3 out of 5 stars. Firstly the top rack either isnt wide enough or it a bad deaign but the top shelf cant take any real weight, i put 5 potatoes on a baking tray to roast and one side falls down onto the lower shelf so you have to modify it (bent it) so thats not great for starters.

Also I get about 1.5 hours from a cannister with the oven around 180-200 degrees. Half of another review.

And the lower shelf i put a pizza on the rack above the black tray and the base was black within 5 mins so heat distribution is an issue.

Having said that do i want a bigger oven and gas bottle? Not really for how often it will be used.

Gas cannister oven

Excellent. Very light to lift about in and out of camper cupboard. Cooked family size lasagne no problem although did take a few minutes longer than our house oven. Very pleased. A great appliance to live home from home and also takes away the worry of no hot food if main gas cylinder for the hob runs out when suppliers have no replacements.

Hi gear gas canister oven

What a fantastic bit of kit only used it once so far but does everything it should. How many people can say they have prepared and eaten a Sunday roast whilst camping and all without electric hook up too!

Hi gear cartridge gas oven

I don't know whether I've just been unlucky but I've had to return two of these ovens as faulty. Turning off before cooking. Turning off when setting the cooking time. Turning off after releasing the ignition button regardless of how long you held in. After talking the second one back I'd lost all faith in this product and got my money back.

Effective outdoor gas oven, cooks thoroughly (incl frozen food) and is fairly economical

I'd looked at these for some time wondering how practical and effective they would be for outdoor camping, mostly in a campervan fitted with just a hob and no possibility of having an interior oven. After much deliberating I took the plunge and was not disappointed.

It's been hard to find any review, particularly relating to gas consumption, heating up times etc so here goes....

From igniting the gas, which lit first time, and setting it to maximum flow it took 6 minutes to reach 200°C and within 10 minutes it can reach 280°C as measured on the front thermometer which is on a par with a mini electrical oven of similar size.

I use it mostly for heating foods from frozen such as fish fingers, breadcrumbed cod fillets 14mm thick and oven chips all intended to be cooked at 220°C for 25 minutes. Including the 6 minute heating up time, all were well cooked within just over 30 minutes which is exactly the same as using a conventional oven, the fish and fish fingers were evenly cooked but the oven chips were quite well done around their sides and ends but a few were a little limp in the middle so these were not quite as evenly cooked - although I am nit-picking here. On testing the internal temperature of the fish (I'm a food handler so this is second nature for me!), it was over 86°C five minutes after removing from the cooker and was consistently evenly cooked.

Regarding gas consumption, I use 220g butane gas canisters and cooking the above uses 30-35g gas which makes the oven surprisingly economical, offering about 6 x 30 minute cooking sessions at 220-240°C. If used for a longer cooking session eg 2 hours to cook a chicken, which fits well into the cooker, then it is even more economical because the heating up phase doesn't need to be repeated.

The oven is designed for outdoor use to avoid any risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in a confined space, and this is how I used it. I could smell cooking smells but there was no gas odour at all which is always a fear with gas and although the sides of the oven became warm to the touch, they were not dangerously hot. You wouldn't want to pick up the oven with bare hands while cooking for 30 minutes but if you accidentally touched it then you wouldn't be burned.

I was impressed by this oven for its performance, even cooking and economy and would definitely recommend it to anyone for outdoor use and hope you enjoy it as much as I have. No more surviving on fried bacon for my camping trips from now on!

hi gear gas canister oven

Great product, thought it would use a whole can of gas just to get something cooked, but by surprise it used hardly half a canister even after an hour. Well impressed.

Really hot food .

Used on a 4 day camp . Takes a while to get used to the heat settings and where to place food in the oven . Great for reheating takeaways & pasty's . Gas is cheap and seems to last forever . Timer is an excellent addition as is the auto shut off . It's very light but quite big . Since camping I have used it a few times in my van to reheat my lunch instead of using food flasks . The oven gets food really hot not just warm . Cant recommend enough.

gas oven

We love. We bought it for camping but so far we have only used it for the garden. Its brilliant we've cooked pizzas in it, its light, It's easy to use quick to cook food in. It takes little gas bottles so no messing about with the big gas bottles I can definitely recommend buying it. We can't wait to take it with us camping us. I would give it 10 out of 10 value for money.
