Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.
Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.
The strap location on the foot bed is hard and protrudes. I'm a hill walker and my feet are hardened but Teva sandles took off hard heel skin.
The damaged was shocking, I contacted Teva with photographs, their response was the straps will soften. "No chance" they look good but don't be tempted.

These sandals aren’t very comfortable at all the straps are really uncomfortable and rub your skin something that could easily be solved by putting padding on the straps. They have them on the back strap but not the ankle and toe strap. All so they squeak really badly when wet making you sound like a wet duck walking up the road.
I brought them for a holiday to walk in rock pools at Robin Hoods Bay the only good thing about them was the grip on the slippery rocks. I wouldn’t recommend them unless they solve the problem of padding on the straps because they are really uncomfortable.
