Poor circulation these days down to age and heart condition. These on their own kept hands comfortable in constant windy wet weather at single-figure C over 4 hrs. Strangely less thermally effective when dry in windy low temps. Perfect for camera work and an easily slipped- off over-mitt would be my ideal addition for minus C days.
Bought these gloves for use on ten Tors. Went to Dartmoor in torrential rain and brutal wind and the gloves performed excellently. They kept my hands warm even when wet and allowed for good dexterity. Good enough to put two tents up at 10 at night in the rain and wind! Well worth the money.
Some people here giving fair or bad reviews because they are not very warm. They should understand that these gloves are relatively thin and will never be super warm, and you shouldn't expect them to be.
Where these gloves excel is comfort and warmth where your hands are busy doing something. I have taken these gloves on three skiing trips. They performed excellently, even when damp, and I only ever resorted to my big skiing gloves in a few bitterly cold conditions. The fact that these thin gloves perform well in such an environment is really amazing.
I would never use these gloves for something where you spend lots of time staying still in the cold. Fishing, or camping, these gloves are not the warmest. But for active tasks such as skiing or walking they are brilliant.
Just purchased a pair of these gloves, and wore these for 30 min last night, my hands were still cold both on fingers and back o hands, iwould expect a better result considering the make and the price, iwas not impressed at all with this product, they will be returned today.
Just tried the Rab gloves in cold weather and they were excellent. They also enabled me to grip the cork handle of the walking pole very well. They also seemed to be windproof.
I bought these as I rate Rab. They are a good, comfortable fit & the grip is good but for the price I would expect my hands to be warmer than they were. I found my fingertips getting cold although completely dry. Its questionable weather they are windproof or not.
