Reassuring warmth and comfort from a Rab classic, rejuvenated for the 21st century.
First manufactured over 30 years ago, the Rab Kinder Smock quickly became a favourite on the Sheffield climbing scene, with an iconic shape that meant it could be worn without interfering with a harness or belay device.
The updated version gives us a link from past to present - it's as rugged and hard-wearing as before, still made from the classic Pertex fabric, and now filled with hydrophobic down. It has the same, old-school silhouette (and retro logo!), so while it's not pretending to be fast or light, it will keep you reassuringly warm and comfortable.

The reissue of this classic product (complete with some modern material twists artfully incorporated) couldn't have been more timely, as my much loved, much patched original finally bit the dust last winter. As a simple, warm, stuffable, insulation garment, the Kinder Smock achieves everything I require for a winter day out, without duplication of any of the features of a full waterproof layer. They even managed to revive the original Rab logo for a bit of nostalga!
