Great walking trousers, light and comfortable with a bit of give too , would recommend these to anyone
Super lightweight and very comfy, would definitely recommend!
Used these hiking in Germany in mixed weather conditions and they didn't disappoint. Very comfortable, fitting is great and versatile against the elements.
From the first wear these trousers are incredibly comfortable. No chafing or rubbing. Quick drying,
Really good quality pair of trousers
Amazing trousers, versatile and really comfy.
I bought two pair of these trousers sized XL short leg which are a perfect fit for me as i have a 29inch leg size so they are also perfect for my boots or shoes. The trousers are well made and light enough to easily pack away in a daysack where space and weight can easily become a issue, they are fast drying which is ideal for the Scottish weather. I used Price Match to buy these and made quite a saving on the listed price. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good pair of quality walking trousers as they are very comfortable over any distance. Try them for size first before buying online and use Price Match which is a outstanding offer from the company so make sure you take advantage of it :)
Best ever pants
Been looking for lightweight technical trousers for hiking which can also be worn to pub. Got these in the black and wore today for a 13 mile hike in a cool morning and hot afternoon. Comfortable in both temperatures due to side and leg vents.
Got the X large regular and was concerned they would be too short as I'm 6 foot three but fit really well. Not cheap but great product I hope will do me for a long time.
Cant fault them, fit perfectly everywhere, buy a pair if you have the cash to spare!
As per tile not worn in anger yet but fit like a glove, main reason for review is to big up a couple of staff members at the Warringtone store, namely Sue on the till and te supervisor didnt catch his name a young man in his 20's helped me out no end with the price match, Hope the bosses read these reviews and give both a pat on the back.
Thank you both.
Bought these after numerous recommendations from friends and they've so far done the job perfectly.
I was foolish enough to find myself on Dartmoor without any waterproof over trousers, and despite these trousers not being waterproof, they did a valiant job in keeping my legs warm. Although they will get wet from heavy and persistent rainfall, they also dry out at a phenomenal speed, whilst preventing wind chill.
The black pair are also subtle (and comfortable) enough to use for everyday/urban wear.
A must have for keen walkers.
The first outing for these trousers was a cold, windy January day up on Chanctonbury Hill (749 feet up, -7C windchill and 360 degrees exposed to the elements). Nearly 19 miles of walking in wind and driving sleet. I was apprehensive at first, expecting red, chapped thighs when I got home from the wind chill and sleet. How wrong was I, despite being almost as thin as a Rab MeCo base layer t-shirt, these trousers kept me dry and importantly warm.
They are incredibly quick drying, and the cut is generous in the areas you’d expect. I’ve ordered a second pair as I’m so impressed, slightly larger size as I intend to have one pair for spring /summer / autumn and one pair for cold winter “wild” camping and wanted a little extra room to wear full length long-johns underneath.
I don’t like carrying lots of waterproof over-layers in my rucksack, I prefer water repellent technical fabrics that work well from the offset. The Cotton-feel TACTEL fabric is almost silent when walking, you hear just the faintest of rustling, certainly nothing to annoy you or disturb the wildlife.
On warmer days, the breathable fabric kept me cool. I really don’t notice that I am wearing these, yet I know I can rely on them to perform under all weather conditions. The fabric belt has a sturdy buckle that didn’t slip and therefore didn’t need any adjustment in a 7 hour hike.
I found the sizing to be good, and the belt / elasticated waist combination gives good adjustment if you are not an even numbered waist size, who is?
Great fit, wind proof and breathable thanks to the mesh vents that can be opened. They look great and are the comfiest trouser I've ever owned.
They are versatile as is all of the montane gear I have tried. For climbing and hiking - spot on.
Ive recently been out in the hills in cold conditions with a lot of snow about and didn't find myself cold or uncomfortable once which was surprising considering how light weight they are.
Definitely recommend.
Agree with all the positive reviews on here but will say the pant could be improved with a press stud instead of a fasten button. Also they tend to rustle when i walk in them. Will this wear off over time?? Lastly i take a size L but only the XL fitted me comfortably
Bought these based on reviews i'd read, got to say i'm so pleased i bought them. There so comfy to wear and very very light. I've always bought Rab, which i have tons of Rab gear, but these pants are the best ones i've bought to date cant recommend them enough
These trouser are super awesome, use for walking, treking and climbing.
They put up with a lot of abuse from me and keep going.
I bought a pair of these based on other reviews and initially I was a little disappointed. Firstly they are not 4 season pants, the fabric feels quite cold on your legs when the wind is blowing and I wouldnt dream of wearing them in cold conditions, however as a 3 season pant they excel. The high crotch cut takes a little getting used to but they are very comfy for walking and scrambling and if you do get too warm in warmer climates the leg vents really work well.
I bought these because the fabric is perfect for 3-season "fast and light" hiking as well as scrambling: tough, light, quick drying. However, the cut is rather odd: the 34" Terra fits my 32" waist (ALL of my other gear is 32", I'm not in denial!) but is very loose in the thigh area; the 32" fits perfectly around the thighs but is too snug around the hips and a bit too short in the leg (although at least they won't protrude below your waterproof pants). Now the fit might suit you if you have the average British 30+ male build that I used to share until recently (i.e., not actually overweight but not as slim as I used to be). It might not suit you if you actually have an athletic build, which, for high energy activity pants puzzles me somewhat. Nonetheless, they are so good otherwise that it was worth me buying the 34" waist and getting them professionally adjusted (extra cost £20) especially if Go have them on promotion when you're shopping. They are still the best pants in their class!
Recently purchased the montane terra trousers and am very impressed. First walk up pen y fan on a warm day and really appreciated the leg vents. Second walk today in wet windy weather in the Brecon beacons and they performed amazingly. The water did come through eventually but never became uncomfortable. The rain stopped on way down and trousers were almost dry by time I got back to my car. Cannot recommend these trousers enough.
Bought a pair of these almost 4 years ago then another pair a year later. Still have both pairs and wear them most days off. About to buy my third pair as I like them so much. Such a comfortable, well made product. Definitely recommend to anyone they are well worth the money.
