A great sports hiking boot which is breathable, lightweight and waterproof.

The Hi-Tec Altitude Lite i WP Hiking Boot is not only really comfortable and fully waterproof, but also includes i-shield hydrophobic technology which actively repels water, dirt and oils.

Designed as a lightweight sports hiking boot it has a breathable upper made from a combination of suede and mesh, with a Dri-Tec membrane bootie liner and a grippy rubber sole unit.

A removable OrthoLite sockliner delivers superior cushioning and comfort, enhanced further by the moulded impact-absorbing EVA midsole, and has both anti-odour and anti-microbial properties.

The abrasion-resistant heel and toe cap protects against rough terrain, while the gusseted tongue helps to keep any annoying trail debris outside the boot.

  • i-shield repels water and dirt, and is resistant to stains
  • Combination ghillie and hardware lacing system
  • Lightweight, durable 'fork shank' ensures flexibility and stability
  • MDT rubber outsole improves grip and provides durability

Men's Hi-Tec Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Do Not buy these

Absolutely no cushioning, the Ortholite insole foam is not dense enough to give any help when walking. Made worse by the boot having no cushioning for the midsole. Terrible no wonder they are on sale!

Bought these boots before they came down in price and cost £50 and since been walking out in the wet weather have found out they are not waterproof at all like they say they are supposed to be.

Great first walk

Really pleased with these boots. After trying loads of more expensive pairs these are a great fit. First weekend out with them I walked 26 miles with no problems. Good soles, good toe protection.

Altitude Lite Boots Poor stitching and not waterproof

Bought a pair if these over 12 months ago after good service with a previous pair of Hi-Tec boots. This model is certainly NOT waterproof as advertised and now after fairly light use the stitching has come apart on both boots on the instep where the black rubber toe cap meets the fabric--just where it might expect to get scuffed---seems like a poor design as well as poor quality materials. Took them back to Go Outdoors but whilst they agreed that it seemed poor service they suggested that you got what you paid for and stuck rigidly to the 12 month warranty. They suggested I contact Hi-Tec's customer service who were similarly unhelpful. I would not recommend these boots and will avoid Hi-Tec boots in future.

Hi-Tec Altitude Lite i WP Men's Hiking Boot

Really disappointed. I was only looking for a pair of boots to walk the dog, could have gone slightly cheaper, decided to opt for these as they were slightly more expensive and wanted Hi-tech as a more reputable brand.
Started leaking small amounts after a few weeks of use, it's become progressively worse and today I found the sole has separated fro the upper totally.
Not what I expected from light dog walking.
Definitely wouldn't recommend or buy Hi-tech again.

Hi-Tec Altitude

Comfortable, BUT NOT WATERPROOF as advertised, bought for dog walking so not done many miles and getting soaking wet feet.
Taking them back for full refund

All round good for the price

Comfortable with insoles, and waterproof with spray, worked well over a scout weekend camp in the mud and rain, Good for the price with a couple of extras.

H Tec altitude lite i wp mens hiking boot

Very comfortable BUT both boots split down the outside edge where the rubber toe flap meets the fabric . Seems to be a design fault -

Not great

Was quite happy to begin with, but after 3 months of light use they split down the side.

Comfortable but waterproof they definitely are not. Just walking through long wet grass for twenty minutes and my socks were wet through

Not waterproof

I recently purchased these boots mainly for dog walking through the local woodland and fields. They are not waterproof, after a half hour in wet grass my socks were beginning to get wet. I think this waterproof membrane system is not very effective, there is far too much stitching involved in fabric boots which must affect the ability of the membrane to keep moisture out. Next boots I buy will be back to leather which I can keep proofed with regular applications of boot wax.

Lightweight and comfortable, but slightly flimsy

I brought these boots for a recent trek and was happy with them. They are light and comfortable, but supportive enough for me. Mine were waterproof in rain and snow and whilst crossing streams and bogs. They do, however, show major signs of wear after one trip. This is currently just cosmetic, but I do not expect to get too many treks out of them. In addition, the laces they came with snapped quite quickly on both boots.

Not what I had come to expect

I'd purchased these boots in October 2015 after a debacle with some Karrimor boots which fell apart after 2 months, purchased from a well-known 'sports' retailer.

My boots prior to that had been Hi-Tec and had been purchased from GoOutoors - so I returned to a tried and trusted source.

All has been reasonably well until recently. I have walked in the Peaks, and a couple of other places, but nothing strenuous. Other than that, they have been used to walk the dog.

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that the sole had started to come away from the boot - but thought this was mostly cosmetic, so continued to use them.

However, recent rainfall has meant there are significant puddles around, and in some places unavoidable. One night this week I stepped in a puddle and my foot was wet immediately. The water didn't come up over the top of the tongue, so my foot should have been dry. My only assumption is that the water is penetrating the material, or coming in through the 'gap' in the sole.

In addition, walking the dog this morning through wet grass, and once again - wet socks inside the boot.

I'm taking them back to the store to be sent off for assessment.

Now - which ones to try next...

Waterproof (Not)

Very comfortable and even stylish, but waterproof?? Wore them 3-4 times for farmland walks in Suffolk, no problems. Wet trail (not bogs) in Scotland on a rainy day (Sgurr a' Mhaoraich via stalkers path) with gaiters covering most of uppers - wet feet within first km or two. No puddles more than 2 cm deep. Previously had two pairs of Ottawa's - excellent, decided to try non-leather.
Very disappointing, took two days to dry out.

Really comfortable from the off nice lacing system have done 30 miles on wet muddy grass and forest tracks and on roads kept my feet dry and warm no blisters good ankle support.

My only issue is the grip on surfaces like steel drain covers, cobbled streets and the plastic matting used under some grass path ways... it's like skating on ice and you have to have your wits about you or your going to end up in a heap on the floor not sure if other walking boots have the same issue ???? the grip is good on soft surfaces like grass and forest tracks cant fault it.

Nice looking a good feel to them, top tip buy DECENT socks to wear with them !!
