Great shoe - very comfy!

Bought a pair of these last year and was very happy with them, climbing everywhere from the local wall to Majorca and the Alps. So much so that for the first time in my life I bought a second pair so that when the first pair wear out I won't have to go looking for replacements! Perfectly good performance for the level I climb at, (6a/b indoors, HVS - E2 outdoors) and definitely worth a look for those like me who usually struggle to find a comfy shoe that fits well.

La Sportiva Tarantula

This is my second pair of these shoes
I find them a really comfortable fit on my foot shape which is broader on the toes and quite high arches. They are excellent both indoor and on multi pitch trad routes. They are sized quite small so you may have to buy a size or two larger than your normal size

Excellent buy

First pair of climbing shoes, bought a size 12 despite being size 11, and would say it’s the way to go. Shoes are as comfortable as a pair of climbing shoes can be. Great assistance in store from staff.

La Sportiva climbing shoe

After getting into bouldering, I decided my own shoes were needed. After trying on literally every single pair in the store, these fitted perfect.

First time tackling the wall, I felt more confidence in these than the well used hire shoes. On the first climb, I expected a little more grip than I got but put this down to the sole needing a bit of use.

I’d highly recommend these as after a couple of climbs and some improvements in talent and core strength, I love these! As a novice, these shoes inspire confidence, helped improve my climbing and look good too!

Good shoe from la sportiva

I've been wearing these twice a week for about 9 months now also done some trad/sport routes in them
Brought them a size down they broke in nice and are very comfortable they have helped me grow in confidence and increased my climbing grade
I'm climbing 6c indoors and are now struggling a little with them holding on small footholds more because they like others have said stretch over time
They have took all the abuse I have gave them
With very little wear
Overall a great beginner/intermediate shoe
That will help you progress :)

Good Climbing starter pair

Good comfortable shoes, ample for entry level climbing to more advanced. The shoes have a reasonable level of grip and are good quality. For the price you can’t ask for more

Comfy shoes

Probably the best out of the three pairs I've owned. They are a good cross between being comfortable and giving stability on the wall.

Not that good

The only fault i have had is how much they have stretched, but that makes them rubbish at gripping small holds and features. They are comfortable for that reason.

My first pair

All good,no complaints so far. Comfy and fit really well. I'm no expert but they seem like great shoes for beginners

Perfect for relatively new climber

I bought this for my son who has been climbing for just over a year. He finds them comfortable and seems to find them suitable for his climbing.
Ideal as a not too expensive shoe for a teenager who grows out of everything far too quickly!

had to return twice as the boot fell apart after a few weeks of moderate usage. Reminded me cheap 'made-in China' products for a top range price.

Not great

I was not particularly impressed by this shoe. First one of the Velcro buckles broke (though I could just wrap the Velcro directly onto the shoe so not the end of the world).

Then both shoes wore down on the toe completely. I go to the wall once or twice a week, and these lasted a good bit less than a year!

They are alright

Bought these as my first shoe. I buy based on reviews and wait till I get a good understanding of a product before reviewing. They look good, are very comfortable with the ability to be adjusted quite well with the straps. However, I've worn them approx for 10 x two hour sessions. There is a hole at the toe on my most used foot. I imagine my footwork is rubbish but that was quick. For £67 that's not long. I ride mountain bikes. I have two pairs of 5.10 shoes. One for the bike and one for casual wear. The bike ones are two years old and while the stealth sole rubber is wearing it is still going strong. That's the brand I'm going to for my next climbing shoe. Stickier than a toffee apple on your eyelid!

Good Started shoe

These were my first set of rock shoes. I'm a street size 11 and got these in a size 9 1/2, after the initial break in period they stretched out nearly an entire size.
They are very comfortable, don't smell and have lasted about 3 1/2 months after being used 3 - 4 times a week - however the toe has just started to wear through.
If I had better foot work the toe may have lasted a little longer however the edges on the sole are well rounded elsewhere so their edging capability is no longer what it use to be.
I would say their a good starter shoe however with hindsight I would have bought a cheap pair of Climb X shoes for the local wall and some 5.10 Anasazi'z for the crag.

Seriously, these are the most comfiest shoe I have ever worn. I can wear these all day without any sign of aching toes. They are of the highest quality and stick like limpets to the wall. Cant really praise them enough.

La Sportiva Tarantula review

Bought these shoes as I had just started out bouldering and was getting fed up with the worn out hire shoes that the climbing centre provided. They look great and I noticed a difference straight away in my ability to get onto those small holds with the excellent grip. The velcro fastening makes for easy adjustment in terms of comfort. Overall I would recommend these climbing shoes. 5 stars from me!

La Sportiva Tarantula

When first purchased, the shoe was very well fitting and felt good to climb in. But after a weekend spent on gritstone and bouldering indoors 3 times a week for about a month, the front of the shoe has worn down to the leather and has stretched a considerable amount (about a size). Very disappointed.

Fantastic mid entry first shoe.
Dont know what pearcie did with his shoes but obviously not what they were intended for - take no notice!
No issues, excellent quality (as you would expect from La Sportiva), grippy and superb all day comfort. Highly recommended.
