Scarpa footwear is made in European sizes, which allows for a more accurate fit as the 'gaps' between sizes are smaller. Each European size is roughly 3/4 of a UK size.
As with all walking footwear, we advise moving up a size from your normal shoe size to allow room for thicker socks and for your feet to expand during a long walk. If you fall between sizes you should always go for the larger size.
We have trained footwear advisors in all of our stores - if you have trouble finding the right boot for you please pay us a visit and we'll be happy to help. You can also find out more about choosing, fitting and caring for walking footwear in our online Footwear Buying Guide.
Bought these especially for the Dolomites four years ago and within this time they've proven to be an brilliant investment (if not an absolute life safer away from cheaper boots). Phenomenal stability, durability, traction and trust in these! Worth ever penny. M
Haven’t had chance to wear in snow yet but these are genuinely the grippiest boots I’ve ever worn.
I found my feet felt a little battered and bruised after my first outing but it was two 7 hour hikes on consecutive days straight out of the box. I think that was more of a sock issue though... I’d strongly recommend getting some proper hiking socks with these.
I’m still getting to know the grip level because so far I’ve been able to walk easily over slimy wet rocks and steep shear slabs of wet rock without any issue where previously I would have been on my hands and knees.
The build quality is obvious from the second you put them on with little rollers instead of eyelets for the laces as well as lace clips to stop them from loosening. I’ve also given them some preset rough scrapes against rock by accident and felt gutted that I’d scuffed them, only to get home and realise they're absolutely immaculate! Very very sturdy stuff
As far as standing up to the elements, They’re extremely well insulated and very breathable. With regards to being waterproof.. you’d have to go scuba diving to have wet feet in these.
Finally got the chance to purchase these amazing boots with the Black Friday deals and price match, very comfortable straight out of the box and lovely and warm on a very cold and wet day.
Great Boots - great all the way up to 5000ms.
Used them on Mount Pisco 57000mts in Cordillera Blanca -Still fairly warm even then
Excellent boots, really supportive and comfy straight out of the box.
Purchased these for autumn/winter munro walks.
Managed to bag several after the first couple of weeks after purchase and these have been superb.
Offered great grip, meaning i did not need my crampons until the i found myself at steep ascents.
Really comfortable for a B2 rated boot and have kept my feet dry wading through snow for several hours.
Only thing i'd maybe change is the insulation to keep your feet warm. I feel it could be better but they seemed good to around -7 with one pair of double layer walking socks.
They were a bit of a steal with the go outdoor price match. You won't be dissapointed.
I found these boots to be very comfortable straight out of the box. I have used them for a couple of low level walks so far and the boots performed well I still have to test them out on a Munro but I'm confident they will not let me down.
Had these for a few months now and done 3 mountains. They do need breaking in before taking anything meaty but by far the most secure and sturdy boot i have ever had and well worth the money.
Best mountaineering boots I ever owned but my feet are getting some serious pain after a full day on the hills. I am having a relatively narrow feet and somewhat weirdly twisted smallest toes. Those toes are getting a nasty blisters and heels are scratched. It is happening in most of the shoes before I brake them but I hoped that Mantas would be exception as all who reviewed them are saying there is no braking time.. not my case.. I still hope they will serve me better when I’ll use them more. So far I have done couple of spring, summer, autumn hill walks at British Lake District, Welsh snowdonia and many wood walks in my lockal area, no leaks, and warm. Bearable in the summer
I've had these for a year now and have given them every opportunity to fail! They have passed every test so far.
Feet/ankles feels secure at all times, grip is second to none and they have never once leaked water despite some truly awful weather!
Great compatibility with C1 & C2 crampons especially with Grivel.
I've done plenty of scrambled/climbs in these now, and feel much more confident when locking my foot in place!
Also very easy to clean.
One minor complaint would be the lack of more padding at the toe end of the boot, can get a little uncomfortable on long descents, depending on your foot shape.
Bought these boots to replace my old Mantas and have never looked back since. Been used for multiple trips in England / Northern Europe in freezing temperatures and no issues with the cold whatsoever.
Pair exceptionally with C2 crampons (currently using Grivel G-12s but previously a pair of Black Diamond Serac) and no issue with either crampon.
Can't reccomend highly enough
Just came through my 2nd Winter using these, using them throughout the British Isles in full winter conditions, can't say enough good things about them really. The fit is superb for me, with a pair of Bridgedale heavyweights they are snug but articulate with no rubbing, the sole is very grippy and has the rigidity you would expect of a B2 for pointing on the toe portion.
Insulation wise they have come through -20 windchill without any noticeable numbing in the toes, also take a C2 crampon really well, in my case Black Diamond Serac.
Downsides? They aren't the lightest, nor very cheap but you get what you pay for.
Comfiest boots i have ever worn.
No breakin in required.
Used them in a white-out at Glencoe recently. They live up to their reputation easily.
Feet will be bone dry through anything a Scottish winter can throw at it . Sole is excellent making ascending hills a doddle and you can plough down with confidence knowing you won’t slip . Belters!
