used couple pairs different shoes type for Uk wet country, try in store 1st.

I loved these shoes as soon as I saw them. I ordered them and they came quickly. I tried them on in my flat and as soon as I put them on could tell they would rip my feet to pieces. They are very narrow at the toes as well. I thought If I brought a more expensive pair of walking shoes they would be more comfortable. I sadly returned these shoes.

First time buying Meindl and probably my last as the sole has started to noticeably wear down at the heel within a year. I wear them a lot on hard ground but I'd still expect more than 12 months.

Good quality. You get what you pay for and whist expensive they are the best

Been buying this type of trainer for over 25 years. However I won't be buying them again as the laces are now so rubbish that they won't stay done up even when done in a double knot!

I bought these boots last spring (2015) as an alternative to my main Meindl boots (Island Lady) for low level walking as my other boots are quite heavy. I have had a few pairs of Meindl boots but these are the worst I have ever bought of any brand. I tried them out on a wet day in Kielder forest. The path was good but had lots of roots. I have never felt so unsure on my feet and ended up scrabbling along a fence as the boots slipped and slithered over every rock and root making me feel very wary. I've used them on and off since usually in the dry as I don't trust them in the wet. Just back from a week in Arran (May 2016) and after just about 30 minutes the soles of my feet ache with the hardness of the insoles. There is no padding whatsoever. I do need a stiff outsole but usually boots for walking have some padding these have none to speak of. Each day after only fairly short walks the soles of my feet like I had run the +Goatfell race .... I couldn't wait to get these off my feet. Despite being a loyal Meindl customer for years I would not even what these to walk to the pub so I have to say these boots are now consigned to the garden.

Found these very comfortable & can walk long distances 15-20 miles in them with no discomfort. Rigid boot like sole helps with this. Good grip and waterproof. But after wearing them to walk about 20 -30 miles a week for 4 months the lining split on the heel, causing blisters. Meindl have given a refund, so no problem with customer service but I feel Meindl quality isn't what it used to be.

I bought these shoes to replace a pair of Zamberlan walking shoes which after 3 years wear had finally been confined to the bin. They are very light and I would call them more trainers than walking shoes, but they are sufficient to walk the dogs at low level. The first time I wore them I got the biggest blister I have had in years at the side of the foot near the ankle (I had walked only 4 miles) but they soon became very comfortable. I got them on a price match and don't feel i would have been able to justify the full price of £100+

Superb shoes, bought them one day and the next walked 20 miles over a mix of sand, grass and tarmac with no rubbing, no blisters and soles of feet were not nearly as sore as I would expect walking that distance. Highly recommended.

This is my second pair very comfortable, wear them everyday for walking the dog.

Wide fitting, comfortable boots - do exactly what they say in the description. Can't fault them so far!
