GORE-TEX® TechnologiesScarpa's R-Evo GTX Boots are fully waterproof, very comfortable, and supportive enough to see you through day-long treks over whatever terrain you find yourself tackling.

Featuring Scarpa’s Sock Fit technology, with unique Scholler S-tech fabric, they provide an ever-adapting fit -  the tongue, ankle flex zone and collar are all linked with an elastic action, just like you are wearing a sock, that moves with your foot.

Thanks to their GORE-TEX Performance Comfort Footwear lining, which allows for moisture vapours to move away from your skin while keeping water out, your feet are kept dry and comfortable inside.

Men's Scarpa Footwear Size Guide

Scarpa footwear is made in European sizes, which allows for a more accurate fit as the 'gaps' between sizes are smaller. Each European size is roughly 3/4 of a UK size.

As with all walking footwear, we advise moving up a size from your normal shoe size to allow room for thicker socks and for your feet to expand during a long walk. If you fall between sizes you should always go for the larger size.

We have trained footwear advisors in all of our stores - if you have trouble finding the right boot for you please pay us a visit and we'll be happy to help. You can also find out more about choosing, fitting and caring for walking footwear in our online Footwear Buying Guide.

Soles wear out quickly

Bought these two years ago and have enjoyed wearing them.I have worn them in all conditions up to 4,500m. The uppers are still good and waterproof but the soles have worn through, very Disappointed

Best boots ever

I can't fault these boots at all. They're comfy, ACTUALLY waterproof, lightweight, grippy, fit crampons well, not too hot in summer, just great boots.

Scarpa R Evo GTX Boots

Bought these a couple of years ago to do the Tour du Mont Blanc after a pair of Salomons I bought for the trip gave me blisters. With no breaking in time available these boots proved to be the most comfortable I have ever owned. I was slightly concerned that the neoprene sock construction would prove too hot but this didn't prove to be the case. I am going to buy another pair before the models move on.

These boots are the best boots I have ever owned and I don't give that honour lightly. I work in the outdoors and I am very particular about gear, especially footwear. I first purchased these boots in Feb 2016, after much deliberation, as I was never a fan of Scarpa boots. Since then I have used and abused these boots in all conditions often without them drying out from the previous day and they are still going strong. Infact I am about to purchase another pair in case Scarpa decide to stop making them. Ok the fit is very Scarpa and at first I didn't know if they felt right. However I have never had a blister or pressure point in the last couple of years. If you are looking for a durable lightweight walking/scrambling boot look no further and no I don't work for Scarpa!!

Scarpa r Evo gtx

Bought these boots to replace Scarpa delta gtx activ that I'd worn out and having done the Yorkshire 3 peaks for the previous 3 weeks I've just returned from completing the west highland way over 5 days and for the first 3 days the rain never stopped I walked 20 miles a day with my feet pretty much submerged and not once did these boots let me down. the best boots I've had and would definitely recommend these boots they are awesome !!!!

Excellent boots

Very comfy straight out of the box. They are waterproof and they provide good support. The lacing is good and easy to tighten. I had to go half a size up on my usual boot size and they cost a fair few pennies, but so far they are an excellent boot and I am very happy with them.

Replaced my Merrells with these and they have proved to be amazing. Waterproof, loads of support.

Good while they lasted

A great pair of lightweight boots that I've worn for three years. Unfortunately they are now leaking so will explore a more durable option in future.

Big money, unremarkable boot.

I bought these 2 years ago. They are nice and light weight and feel agile. Quit comfortable. My only criticism is the grip which is terrible. I've been doing a lot of walking in Scotland and Nepal in these so they have been fairly tested. On wet rocks and mud these will send you flying! Whenever I'm walking with my friends they could have a fair of flip flops on or a pair of 50 pound boots and id be the one sliding around like I'm on an ice rink.. Definitely not what I expected from a boot with this price tag. Others have raved about Scarpa boots but my first and last pair have been a overpriced disappointment.

Great boots!

Really good walking boots for rocky mountain walking, good grip, light weight and water proof.

Good boot, shame about the sole

Bought these boots in Dec 16 but had to return them six months later as the soles of both heels had worn out. Shop sent them back to Scarpa for assessment who came back with no manufacturing defect and not prepared to replace or resole the boots.
I was impressed with the boots initially but didn't expect a pair of mid-priced boots to wear out so quickly. I've got a pair of Meindl boots which also have Vibram soles and they lasted me over 2 years before I needed to get them resoled.
Doubt I'll purchase Scarpa produces again.

Scarpa R-Evo

This boots were a good fit and comfortable straight from the box; I wanted a boot for summer scrambles and used them immediately on the Culling Ridge. They were supportive and comfortable. The laces are thin and you might want to change the insoles...that's all!

Good boot. Very comfortable, water proofing is excellent.

I've had these boots 2/3 months now. They are extremely comfortable and did not need walking in. The water proofing is excellent and the boots keep your feet warm. They also look the business in orange. The only slight issue that I've had is with the grip. I completed a 35 mile walk over two day in serious wet weather and the grip let me down twice. Twice I slipped over in very muddy conditions. It is debateable how much the boots were to blame because in conditions any boot would have slipped. In my opinion though they do have a slight tendancy to slip sideways. This is not down to a lack of grip but how the grip is aligned because the grip is very good on the flat. The issue only arises on uneven, elevated, muddy ground. Overall though these are very good boots and do the two key things. Keep your feet dry and comfortable. Thus they are perfect for any fair weather walker.

So after years of walking about in a cheap £30 pair of boots I finally treated my self to what I thought was one of the best boots I could buy, sadly I could have not been more wrong as after just 9 months of light use (just hills no mountains) the soul wore out and I now have holes in both boots. Sent to scarppa who could not have been more useless if they had tried. There response was that it was normal wear yet my cheep £30 boots have lasted me 8 years........

Scarpa R-Evolution GTX Trekking Boots.

Over the years I've completed a 1,687 miles continuous backpacking Land's End to John o'Groats walk and twenty one 200 mile crossings of Scotland on the TGO Challenge, the world's greatest organised backpacking event; I'm pretty good at judging footwear.

I have only had these boots a week, and have barely walked 35 miles in them. However a short a time as this is, so far I am massively impressed with these babies. The sock-fit and the incredible ankle flex makes these boots comfortable out of the box.

My size 45s weigh 735g apiece, so they are moderately lightweight. The sole unit has excellent traction (it's a Vibram unit) and has good shock absorption under the heel. The lacing gives a positive fit and locks at midpoint so you can achieve different tension over your forefoot and ankle.

I have subsequently recommended them to a friend (another time-served TGO Challenger) who was equally impressed. He bought a pair - and he is not one who parts with his hard earned dosh very readily!

My advice? If a Scarpa fit suits your tootsies, buy them. You will not regret it.

Excellent robust yet comfortable boot that will last!

After buying these boots in January 2016 I have been amazed to how comfortable and robust these boots are.
I have climbed 73 of the highest UK mountain summits in 2016. climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and endless other higher level walks in these boots in 2016 and they are still in great condition.
These boots are my go to boot for almost every hike or mountain walk!
I have struggles with cheaper, ill fitted boots before thinking that price is just a gimmick of boots which maybe over priced somewhat.
These are a quality product and the sock fit boot works wonders.
After a closer ankle hold like fit which takes a walk to get used to if you are used to a bigger fitted boot, the Scarpa fit like a glove. They hold your ankle in place stopping any chance of heel slip and thus, minimising the risk of blisters and your heel area ( which I am prone to).
The boot is quite rigid for a walking boot but if you hike/ climb as much as I do regularly, your feet will thank you for this type of boot.
I never thought you could get a boot that does everything and still allows you never to worry about fatigue in your feet which you will get from a softer boot over longer walks.
The outer boot is both robust and hard wearing.
The front of the boot has a plastic kick patch around the top of the toes, this helps your scuffing boots which I'm prone to scratching on ridges or rocks with leather boots i've owned in the past.
The boots haven't wetted out once due to a failure in the material and kept my feet both warm and dry on Kilimanjaro with one pair of summit socks and liner on Kilimanjaro down to -18 degrees.
In a nutshell, put your money out for these boots because they are the best ive ever owned.
Keep them clean and every now and then reproof with both Niki wax boot cleaner and some form of reproofer and they will last you ages! im hoping to get at least another year or two out of these boots with the high activitiy I do in them.
P.S hardly any signs of wear as yet.

Good boots, but not quite great

I've used Scarpa approach shoes for years, so thought I'd give their boots a try. These are really good boots, but not quite great and solid 5 stars. There are a couple of small problems. Firstly the sole is too slippery on anything that is smooth and wet. Tree roots, smooth stones and tarmac etc. They do have excellent grip on everything else. I've slipped over a couple of times, which hasn't happened with previous boots. I also don't think the boots are very breathable. Even on cold days these boots make my feet sweat. The plus side is I've never had cold feet, even in snow. Finally, the laces have a habit of loosening off mid' walk, so often need to be retightened. Having said all that, I love the sock fit technology, although it does take a little getting used to. The boots are really supportive, if a little heavy, whilst I've had no issues with their waterproofing. I did replace the insole with a new SuperFeet Green, which makes the boots even better. Despite the above issues, I'd buy another pair and will definitely use Scarpa boots and shoes in the future.

Good boots

I've had these boots nearly a year now and they have been excellent.

When I first got them home I realised the stitching inside the boot, around the tongue looked poor. It looked as though if I pulled on the loosen it of stitching, the tongue would fall apart. I sent an email and photos to Scarpa explaining the problem, they quickly replied saying "it shouldn't be an issue and if it does become a problem, let us know and we'll replace them". Good start as a company.

I have used these boots daily since buying them and they have been well abused. I have done plenty of hillwalking and just general dog walking. I try to wash them down and re-proof them when I get time too. I have stepped in deep puddles, walked through fords ankle deep and been caught many times by the sea walking too close, never have I had wet feet!

The boots were brilliantly comfortable out of the box, the only slight downside for me comfort wise is that I struggle to get them laced well enough to stop my toe hitting the end on step declines. It's not too often this happens, just a slight gripe.

I saw someone else mention that these are good for narrow feet. I personally thought the opposite. My feet are annoyingly wide and thin, these boots fit well without feeling like my feet are squashed.

Everything is great about these boots, apart from one thing..... Grip! I wouldnt feel comfortable walking on damp rocks or any similar slightly slippery surface. The grip is very poor!

I think I would buy them again although I like the look and feel of the Meindl Vacuum boots.

Really pleased with this purchase. I have very narrow heels that normally causes me discomfort for the first few walks until I wear the boots in. These were comfortable from the word go with the lacing allowing me to get a really good fit without being too tight around the top. Very lightweight for a chunky looking boot and provided ample cushioning over medium to hard terrain.

Scarpa R-EVO GTX Trekking Boots

Great boot comfortable straight out of the box. Great lacing system that can be easily adjusted during a hike. Walked about 25 miles to date in them around the Peak District. Waterproof is exactly that I've had them sink in peat bog up to lace tops no water water ingress at all. Will update review soon when they have travelled more.
