Head the warnings in other posts. they are not exaggerating. A nice fitting coat but not fit for purpose. I returned it to be told all down jackets do that. I was prepared by taking my base layer which looked like it was tarred and feathered. They took one look at that and gave me a refund. Should be taken off the market.
I’ve had exactly the same problem as others, with excess down covering whatever clothes I’m wearing underneath and with “customer services “telling me this is to be expected, No it’s not, as there’s no mention of this on the product information pages nor on point of sale, nor on the Montanne labelse Never had this problem with my Rab coatt pboughtpreviously
I purchased this jacket and wore it for an hour and the amount of down that leaks from the jacket is incredible. I’ve always worn Rab and never faced this issue. Whilst there is always going to be some loss of down initially, this jacket went far beyond that. Returning for refund.
For this price, the jacket is very thin and won't provide a proper amount of insulation. Might be good to wear on colder Spring evenings... Returning to the shop.
This jacket leaks. I mean it leaks BAD. Some leakage is to be expected but I've been buying all kinds of down jackets for years as an outdoor practitioner and this is by far the worst I've experienced. Car seat, settee, just walking down the road. Every time a move or fold my arms, another half dozen feather fly through the air. Go Outdoors are in the middle of telling me this is "normal" and could go on for months. I'm unconvinced and would like to exchange it for something similar. So far it's a brick wall. I love Montane stuff but I'd avoid this jacket, it's impractical because of the mess.
This my first jacket from Montane and unfortunately last.
Amount of down lost over two weeks using is a shame.
Going back to the shop.
As with the other review, this is the first duff item I've ever bought from Montane, despite trying to shake and remove all loose feathers, every single time I've worn it I have been left covered in feathers. I will be having to take this back, such a shame.
Lovely light jacket, getting lighter by the day as all my clothes are covered in leaking down, car seat also, which is a shame as I have been a lifelong Montane fan, whether this is a one off, don't know,am taking back to store for their opinion,Hope it is just the newness as it is a great jacket.
Bought this jacket in the sale from Doncaster got it home and noticed there were load of feathers leaking through the lining ,so took it back and changed it for a Rab , shame cos I like Montane .
