Leki walking poles
I bought these for some tougher, hilly walks such as a local part of the South West Coast path. They seem to be very sturdy and (once I got the rhythm back for walking with poles) they helped a lot on the appalingly steep hills between Torquay and Shaldon (look them up!). They are very light indeed and when on my bag, I had no idea they were there. They feel strong and even with my weight (16 stone) they held me well and didn’t bend much. The telescopic fasteners work well but you do need to make sure they’re extra tight. The only thing that I would say stop them getting a 5 star review is the handles. They feel perfectly comfortable but after a while and when your hands are sweaty, they did give me a blister on the inside of my thumb. The more expensive ones have cork handles and these are probably better but for the price, these are an essential for long, difficult walks. Certainly 100x better than the £10 type ones.
