Robens Denali Tent Stove

A great stove for winter camping. I use it for cooking on as well as heating the tent. A fire blanket under the stove door is a must along with a CO detector and a handy bucket of water, just in case. A couple of things that are not mentioned, one, put sand in the bottom of stove for the wood to sit on, as this will help keep the stove in top condition. Also, you need to sweep out the carbon deposits in the flue pipes after each trip.

Easy to assemble and quick to heat the tent

I got this stove because it was designed for the Robens Klondike tent I own. It comes with nearly everything you need to use it - I bought a heat proof mat to go underneath, and carbon monoxide alarm for the tent, and have a fire extinguisher/bucket of water nearby whenever it's lit. You can't use it at he same time as the inner tents for the Klondike.

Normally I only camp with adults. It quickly heats the tent, and creates a cosy place to relax with a group with a lot more atmosphere then using a typical tent heater.

I have to say I would be very hesitant to use this around young children. As with any fire, the stove and flue get hot and would require constant supervision.

The first time I used it, I burnt it outside to get the factory coating off, which meant leaving it for about an hour once it was hot.

When I first used it in the tent, I had to adjust the length of the chains to make sure the silver flue protector was the only thing in contact with the tent - this only took a couple of minutes. Make sure to check the logs fit through the little stove door if buying logs - I found the semi-circular ones were too big.

I like that all of the flue sections fit inside the stove when put away. The flue protector, spark guard and gloves go in the bag separately.

robens denali tent stove

Ok got this from derby on 26/4/17 when I got it home I went out side put it together first to see how it fits second because YOU NEED TO DO FIRST BURN!!!!!!!! I did it for 1 hour this is to burn off paint. All went ok second just to make sure I know what to do when I go camping! About 2 hours later take apart clean up then put away for camping in 2 days.
Right then things I found using it
1) when you first us it in my new robens Klondike tipi tent it is a pig to get in hole if not fully open the hole!!!!! (now I know!)
2)I used a fire blanket for god sake get a good one I used a cheap one a charcoal feel out as NO
ASH HOLDER I got a small hole in the floor now!!!!!!!!!!(will make one)
3)you have to have the door open a bit as no air vent(which I will make)
4)when I left to go home I found that the holes to fold up back legs don’t line up to good so ill have to make a bit bigger
5)no flue damper
Ok I know I've put some bad things about it but got to say it is a good stove (first one ever had)there is frontier stove which is cheaper but haven't seen doesn’t come with bag gloves but does have flue damper but I would say this is a good stove I still would buy takes me 5 mins to set fire 20mins the tent warmed up logs last 1hr 30 mins charcoal 1hr + (but clean up is a lot!! But is warmer and cheaper than logs)
