I love this - been using it for 2yrs now 3 or 4 days a week. However, the inner lining is flaking off already, covering everything I put in it in 'black dandruff'. I expected MUCH better durability.
Great zips. Loads of utility and feels very comfortable on
Great little backpack. Could use with an internal laptop pocket and longer side straps to accommodate a tent and/or sleeping mat.
The zips get stuck if you live near the sea.
Really good comfy bag. I got this for a back to back marathon in which I had to carry 20kg of weight. I searched and tried on muilptle bags and settled with the escapist and I’m so glad I did. Also a great price from gooutdoors.co.uk
Brilliant day pack. Has two separate compartments, and easy access to both. I use it for day hiking, absolutely brilliant. Separate hydration pocket makes it perfect.
Fully adjustable back height using ospreys clever design.
I was after a mid sized day pack. Loads on the market. But none that beat the Osprey escapist 25. The comfort and build quality is amazing and the versatility with all the pockets and clever features make this the perfect pack. I especially liked that the hydration pack fits in between the straps and the main pocket, not taking any space from inside the bag. Would definitely recommend this product to anybody
I use it for hiking rather than biking (as I prefer less luggage on a bike, and on the bike rather than making my back sweaty). Excellent pack from a great maker. Ergonomic fit, even for a tall (6'4") person with adjustable back length. Fits well, and seems comfy for carrying the sort of loads expected of it. Takes at least a 2 litre hydration bladder (but does not come with an Osprey sternum strap magnet, about £5 for 3). Decent rain cover (not tested as yet, in bright green). Really bought it for the separate (zipped divider) bottom compartment on versions above 25 litre (not the 18L version) for wet gear (or in my case a DSLR camera and lenses). Side compression straps are handy when pack not full. Hip belt a little thin (25mm) but most of the hip contact area is padded and wider. Handy zipped pockets on both sides of hipbelt. Stupid zipped pocket on left shoulder strap - most manufacturers seem to include them as a phone case, but definitely not iPhone sized (I use it for a compass instead).
Haven't as yet found the "specific sleeve for your pump" but I guess they mean the two pieces of elastic inside the front pocket which are in about the right places for a compact pump.
From the moment you get your hands on this bag you realise two things. 1: how dearly under equipped your previous bag was and 2: how important it is to have a good bag.
If you are like me and were in need of an everyday all purpose outdoors bag then this is for you. Not just for bikers although that's what it can be used for, it can be used for commuting and running.
Whatsmore Go Outdoors are the best place to buy from because they PRICE MATCH BY 10% I almost needed a sit down after hearing that at the till.
Don't read anymore of this review. You need to go to your nearest Go Outdoors and try this incredible thing out for size. (Literally and figuratively since Go Outdoors has a sizing tool.) Once you see this thing in person you'll be sold on it.
I'll never buy another bag for commuting. Loads of pockets for lights , lock, keys, waterproofs etc etc. I have a flock of Ospreys and the quality of all of them is unbeatable.
Loads of space, the outer hydration pocket is very accessible, nice to have a rain cover included, lots of pockets, although a sleeve along the inner back for a laptop would be nice as would longer side straps.
I have been using this bag for nearly a year. I goes with me every where biking walking camping you name it.
I have been surprised with the amount of room that this back offers. I have managed to nearly fit a full weekend camping equipment inside this bag and you can't really feel the weight of it.
It's a great go anywhere bag
Very good bag great pockets and even waterproof cover for bag on a long wet cycle
I've struggled trying to find a good bag for commuting on the bike, but I've finally found it! It's well designed to accommodate everything you need whether youre out mountain biking or using it across the city. Plenty of pockets in the main bag keeps everything well organised and stops you losing smaller items like pens. The main body of the bag actually splits into an upper and lower section , each separately accessible, perfect for shoes or wet items. The straps have got three smaller pockets perfect for phone, keys and wallet. Almost everything is adjustable, tightenable or changeable! The dry cover stows nicely beneath the bag and the helmet retention strap is a nice touch.
Hired a bike and got one of these to keep pump etc in. So comfortable. Normally hate cycling with a rucsac but this was great.
