This is a great size and packs down inside of my highlander stove. It boils water quickly. It was purchased as an alternative to the MSR gas as that apparently can't be delivered, but this can???? It would have been 5 stars if it came with a safety cap on top.
Purchased only because my local GO were out of Jetboil gas at the time...so settled for this stuff instead. Upon first use it sputtered and coughed for about 30 seconds, before proceeding to completely block the gas valve of my PCS rendering it unusable...which was just spiffing 4 hrs into a cold and wet 50 mile tab in the mid Wales mountains. In great fairness to Go Outdoors they replaced both the gas (exchanging for MSR gas) and the 6 week old MSR PCS which the Coleman gas had buggered. Have since heard of others suffering similar woes with this particular Coleman gas. In my humble opinion the Coleman C100 xtreme gas is useful only as a missile for deterring the advances of overly amorous sheep.
Does the job just a little small I’ll buy the 250 or 500 next time
I was at first wary of using such a device. Being a member of her majesty's elite forces i've seen a few mishaps with fire, particularly in basic training but I found myself worrying in light of my next job of rescuing another agent from Blofelds Antarctic base that a good old cup of hot PG tips might be difficult to come by. With this in mind I found myself visiting go outdoors and slipping the queens groats for burner and gas. A few days later I was air dropped into Antarctica with just a backpack, a 9mm glock, a change of underwear, a swiss army knife, a kettle, teabags and the aforementioned burner. I can't say any more about my mission, i've already said to much but I can reveal I almost perished when I developed snow blindness. It was then I whipped out the burner, kettle and teabags, that hot amber liquid saved me and I rescued the agent all thanks to the coleman burner, thanks Colemans and thanks go outdoors!
This review will self-destruct in......
I bought this gas after I found the standard gas struggled to perform in colder conditions. I managed to get out and test this gas yesterday. I was out on the bank fishing for that illusive snow carp which is seen as a prized catch in the fishing world. Things started slow with no signs of fish so this was going to be a monumental task to wangle one out. After a few hours I decided to indulge into a heart warming cup of Yorkshire tea. Out came the 'extreme' gas and needless to say it did not disappoint. The carpy kettle was boiling in no time and my cockles were warmed by this magnificent beverage. This was it, if there was ever a time for me to catch this snow carp it was now. Off I went fishing every possible fish holding spot. After working my way round the entire lake it happened. The work payed off as my reels melted off and screaming delkims were heard by all of Teesside. Lifting into the fish I knew it was nothing monsterous but never the less it was a winter snow carp! Over the moon as I slipped this little beauty under the net. First fish of 2017 and my very first snow carp. All this thanks to the Coleman 'extreme' gas in my eyes. Thanks go outdoors and thanks Coleman for such an amazing product. Tight lines
Gas worked fine however due to the small surface area it fell over a number of times with a medium pot on top filled with water. Not even a stand helped.
