Men's Scarpa Footwear Size Guide

Scarpa footwear is made in European sizes, which allows for a more accurate fit as the 'gaps' between sizes are smaller. Each European size is roughly 3/4 of a UK size.

As with all walking footwear, we advise moving up a size from your normal shoe size to allow room for thicker socks and for your feet to expand during a long walk. If you fall between sizes you should always go for the larger size.

We have trained footwear advisors in all of our stores - if you have trouble finding the right boot for you please pay us a visit and we'll be happy to help. You can also find out more about choosing, fitting and caring for walking footwear in our online Footwear Buying Guide.

Well built but not comfy

Had 12 months. Well built. No deterioration. Still completely waterproof. Just not comfy for me even with addition of good insoles. I need to soak my feet in the beck at the end of a walk. Real shame.

Quality and Value

Although I have so far only worn these boots on a couple of short walks so far, early signs are good; they feel very comfortable and offer good grip and support.
I’ve tried lightweight (fabric) boots but these invariably let me down when winter walking, but I don’t anticipate similar problems using these year round.

Good all round grip..foot in boot and boot to ground. However, this is a heavy boot that takes time to wear in..feet will feel the pressure in the initial stages of breaking in (invest in a few blister plasters). Once the boot is grounded-in, it's pretty good, waterproof, but foot sweat indicates lack of venting. Easy to clean with kuwiy boot polish and a bit of dubbing keeps the boots supple. Good solid boot for adding clamp-ons and snow platforms. The secret is..wear em' every day and break the boot in, because failure to do so will be costly on the feet on long treks and hikes..they take a while to grind in to the foot and for the foot to get accustomed to the heavy weight. If you wear Salomon boots.. you'll feel these baby's weight.

Bought these Kailash boots as my wife had a pair for several years and she was really pleased. My experience not so good, as on both boots, sole is separating from upper on both sides.Boots are only a year old. Scarpa are unable to repair so have been promised a refund from Go Outdoors. Will look at other makes.

Love These Boots

I have had these boots a couple of years. Purchased on line from Go Outdoors.

I had read reviews where people were saying you could walk in them straight out of the box, Didn't believe it but its true.

I have walked hundreds of miles in these boots and they have never been uncomfortable, the support my ankles so well and they fit like a glove. I moisturise regularly and they have remained completely waterproof. I have no issues with them whatsoever.

Extremely uncomfortable

I bought these boots in spring 2017 and they were okay on the first couple of outings. After that the right boot was squeezing my heel and, as a result, I now suffer with plantar fasciitis.
More recently the left boot has been rubbing against my ankle bone, so the boots have become very uncomfortable to wear.
I did mention this to the manager at the Coventry store, who asked if I had been given the "professional fitting service". That was a joke. What professional fitting service? The member of staff fetched the boots and then just stood there, leaning on the bar on the ramp. There was NO professional fitting service. I shan't buy boots from Go Outdoors again.

Orig boots purchased Nov 16, lasted 4 months worn 1.5 each day - Rand parted from upper on left boot.sent back to Scarpa - changed to new product. 2nd pr lasted a month before eyelet pulled out from upper. 3rd pair leather now splitting on l/h boot only. This is despite treatment with Nikwax and drying naturally. Unfortunately, cannot give less than 1 star do not buy as I feel that Scarpa QC is lacking.

Great Service - Great Boots - One Suggestion for Improvement

I ordered these boots in a size 46, but they were too large. Go Outdoors swapped them for size 45 (11 and a half UK equivalent) and they are very comfortable (I normally get size 10 or ten and a half, so recommend ordering one size larger than for normal shoes, especially if wearing with hiking socks).

I have one recommendation to Scarpa for future upgrades to this model. The base of the heel is set very far back, and I haven't personally met anyone with heels that protrude so much at the base. This results in the heel moving about a bit during walking which could cause discomfort or abrasion on longer walks I guess. So, I suggest Scarpa make a slightly snugger heel base when they construct the new last for any upgrades to this model.

Otherwise, great boots.

Scarpa Mens Kailash Pro GTX Boots

I've had these boots a couple of weeks now. Appear to be great quality boots, worn straight out of the box without any wearing in needed. Haven't put them to any significant test yet. However, have been wearing them everyday with no sign of irritation, they offer support in all the right places.

I am happy with my choice.

Good boot, but.....

Bought these 14 months ago. Comfy, sturdy etc. Used in snow and rain. Kept my feet dry. But, the stitching has come undone on the heel on one boot. Took back to Go Outdoors. As the 12 months were up they had to be sent away for repair. Just found out they can't and Scarpa have issued a credit. Now then.... do I get the same boot and just hope that I am the recipient of a one off???

Excellent boots

I bought these boots after my scarpa deltas gave up on me. I had the deltas for about four years and wore them 365 days a year, as I spend a lot of time out in the mountains and fields here in Sunny Wales. I did check the reviews on these boots first, and all of them were so positive, so I thought I would give them a try instead of getting another pair of deltas.

I find the boots very comfortable straight out of the box and very supportive. Feet stay dry and comfortable, warm but not hot, and most important no foot fatigue.

On the first day with these boots I did a short 5k walk out with my working breed dogs and the boots performed brilliantly, wet grass, mud, rock the lot.

Would I Recommend them. ABSOLUTELY, you will not go too far wrong with these boots on your feet.

Yes! my 5th pair of Scarpa, better than before....

Order on placed on thursday, arrived on monday!

Great shoes, I do not have to walk them in! Sit equally well and walk as if I've been wearing them for years.
Thx for the fast delivery!

Excellent boots !!!!

I have owned these boots since October 2016,and have been holding back from giving a review until I tested them out fully.First off, they are amazingly comfy, and as many have said require no break in.I live on the edge of the Peak District and have spent many hours navigating it in all different kinds of weather conditions with my scarpa's on.In total I have walked about 300 miles and the boots with regular maintenance are still in near perfect condition.i really can't emphasise how happy I am with these boots & would highly recommend them.

Scarpa Kailash Pro GTX Boots

I agree with other review comments about comfort and fit; both perfect, no "breaking in" needed. As for durability: I bought a pair to do LEJOG as a continuous off-road walk. Unfortunately the first pair was defective - it was only a few days before one of the lace eye-rings pulled out of the leather. I phoned Scarpa's UK agent, who replaced them FOC by return of post. The second pair lasted all the way to John O'Groats (about 1100 miles), although by the end, the heels were completely worn out. They seemed very waterproof to begin with, but were wet through for most of the last three weeks in Scotland (perhaps not surprising with river-crossings, bogs etc). They began to stink with this treatment, but you can't really criticise Scarpa for that! They remained comfortable throughout, and I had only one small blister in 83 days of walking.
All in all, I would rate them a great pair of boots, and the customer service from Scarpa was brilliant when I ran into problems with the first pair.

These boots were made for walking

Had these boots for only just over a fortnight now but early impressions are they're the real deal. I walk the Clwydian hills with my dog for 3hrs most days and longer on occasions and so far I'm impressed with the Scarpa's. Needed very little "breaking in" I just put them on and off I went and even though they're my first pair of leathers for 7-8 years and the extra weight took a little bit of getting used to the extra support and protection I felt was well worth it. They're a well made boot that tick all the boxes and gooutdoors staff at Saltney were excellent. I didn't need to mention the price match, they went on line and come up with a better price than I had seen and I then got a further 10% off for using my gooutdoors card, happy days.

Quality boots

Hillwalking for many years and I always come back to Scarpa boots. Bought the Kailash boots first week in Jan 2017 and walked my local streets with them for a week then for the next few weeks onto the hills at New Cumnock and Muirkirk. Boots fitted like gloves and never any discomfort. Heavy going in these locations with few good tracks and a lot of marshy myrtle and bog. Feet nice and dry after 3 to 5 hour walks. Highly recommended and worth the money.

excellent product

Have to say far better than I was expecting. I had originally bought a pair of Meindel Bhutan’s for my wife and myself. Her boots were fine, but mine were too narrow on the toe box and began to crush my toes and gave me a Morton’s neuroma – “very painful”
I thought I’d try a pair of alternative boots the “Scarpa Kailash” and have to say I have been nothing but impressed.
There comfy straight it of the box, technical and with excellent support, and of course the slightly wider toe box.
I cannot say enough good things about the boots other than I would highly recommend that you go buy them

New Boots

Superb quality, masses of support and comfort. Compared to my other boots(salomon) they are head and shoulders above them. As others have said, straight out the box onto your feet.

Scarpa Mens Kailash Pro GTX Boots

I couldn't believe how quickly they arrived, next day by 09:30. The boots themselves are so comfy, I took them on an 11KM walk at the weekend and had no blisters or soreness. They are also as they state waterproof, I tried a few puddles just to be sure. Well made that's for sure and I think well worth the money. Thumbs up from me.
