Excellent dead blow hammer

Hard plastic with internal metal dead weights. Great for knocking pegs in and very robust. Will last a lifetime. Will buy another as they’re cheap enough and then we have one each :-)

Not a rubber mallet!

Unless Outwell have changed the design of this mallet recently this is NOT a rubber mallet - it is a tough plastic mallet filled with what sounds and feels like lead pellets. I have driven in both thin wire tent pegs and heavy duty nail-type pegs with this mallet and not a scratch on it! Would certainly recommend. The review describing it as a rubber mallet should be removed as it is now inaccurate.

Outwell Blow Hammer

Handy little hammer this. Good balance and either it was the whiskey steadying my nerves or I got lucky every time but not once did I miss. Also reckon that should you be in the remotest of the wilds without the proper hunting gear you could take out a fair sized Aberdeen Angus with this thing ??

Don't buy a rubber mallet for tentpegs!

Used once when camping near stonehenge. Because the head is rubber, the tent pegs sliced into it and now its not fit for purpose. We borrowed somebody elses larger mallet with plastic head and wooden handle, which looked around 20 years old but which was much faster and easier to use.
I guess they don't make them like they used to!
My advice is avoid this outwell mallet at all costs as its money down the drain!
