Used on Road tour 2017

Melted! In the mail plastic, and the knob broke and the plastic melted. Not got value for money.

Great

This is a really compact cooker. The gas cylinder is easy to fit and remove, just twist in or out. I would recommend removing to avoid gas leakage in between use. The flame is adjustable and you can cook bacon and egg quickly and easily, plus it boils 2lt kettle of water in 2-3 minutes. Prefer this to the other brands out there and it is very space saving if you are packing everything into a smallish car.

Good, works well although...

I find this works just perfectly for water etc. I can't quote on eggs or bacon because we burnt the pan forgetting to use oil etc. The only issue I do have is how on earth do you release the canister from the base of the screw in attachment.

Stove

I have 2 of these and work fine used to boil a 2 ltr kettle plus frying pan for bacon and eggs , only drawback find cant get flame low enough to cook slower

Easy to Cook with ..

We have two of these we are using in camper van, they do need a wind shield.

We find the life of the gas cylinders to be good however we have found you MUST remove the canister when not in use.

The valve fitting leaks a bit but if you drop out the canister they last for many many meals we have done several 2 week trips cooking meals and making tea and coffee on less than a dozen canisters ..

Useless - poor design

This stove works fine when first turned on and is quick and easy to light. However after a short while we suspect the gas canister gets cold due to being enclosed, and the flame always tails off to nothing. It's ok to warm a bit of milk for the toddler, but heaven help you if you want to boil a pan of water to cook rice for a family.

Great stove, perhaps efficiency has been improved?

Our stove is great. Perhaps campinggaz have done something to improve efficiency as ours boiled enough water for two cups of tea in about 3 mins. Cooked huge pot of pasta, water came to boil very fast, pasta cooked fine in 10 mins. Heated a couple of pans of milk in 1 min, then more tea next morning. Gas bottle not empty by any means.

Great Little Stove

I wanted a little compact stove that fitted the same cartridges as my other twist stove and lantern and this seemed to be the best around. The first one bought from gooutdoors took ages to heat water often never getting to the boil with very little gas flow. I suspected it was faulty and my replacement is much better. Heats water very quickly and you can quickly cook up some bacon or whatever you like. Could do with a little wind protection but otherwise great.

load of rubbish

wish i'd read reviews first, wanted a stpve to boil half a litre of water and make a single bacon sandwich in my van at events. It struggled to boil the water as the flame has absolutely no power, managed 3 rashers of bacon, on the second morning went for ages not boiling the water and could only just cook bacon if turned up to full power now theres not enough gas pressure to do anything - at £4.50 per cartridge its cheaper to buy a coffee - it certianly doesn't boil water in 3 minutes or last 1hr10mins as claimed - sadly i dropped the case about a foot and it smashed as its so cheap, otherwise i would have taken it back.
would have given it no stars if site allowed, don't buy this or anything that uses campingaz cartridges - total rip off

Gas Guzzler

Don't buy. Unsafe and inefficient.

Avoid this cooker at all costs, wish I had taken note of the reviews. Ended up using 4 canisters to boil a kettle 4 times and cook one meal, shocking. Partly due to being a largish ring, but also because it took so long to boil, well over 10 minutes for 2 cups worth of hot water.

On the last day this cooker seemed to know that it was destined for the bin. The handle came loose (did reattach) but what was much more worrying, it started to melt itself. I gave up before it boiled as it was melting the plastic that encases the gas canister. Turned off, and left to cool down far away from the tent.

dont buy

Terrible- expensive to buy, takes ages to boil anything, guzzles gas like no tomorrow, canostets are expensive and pots slide off unless perfectly flat surface!!

Bistro 300

Perfect in my book. Comes with a perfect fitting carry case and easily copes with large cooking pans. We bought two as many double burners are close together which results in pans string each other. We have cooked 2 breakfast and 2 evening meals and at least 4 kettles of boiling water. Still loads of gas left in the canisters.

Best bit is the overall size for packing into the car. No huge gas bottle to carry around.

Expensive on gas

Bought to replace the "very" cheap "Bistro" stove I was using. Better design but actually not so efficient. Used nearly a whole canister to boil a kettle - however! I am going to try with a smaller kettle and a windbreak as I suspect this will help. If not, back to the trusty Trangia!

dissapointing stove

Recently purchased and taken north on holiday.
Good design and very convenient, kettle stands too high above flame, and in cold conditions I only managed to boil 6 coffee cups on a new can of gaz.
Sadly not impressed at all........
