Whilst walking three dogs on ice and snow I fell and sprained my wrist. With Yaktrax I have been able to walk my dogs during a bad week of svere snow and ice with complete confidence. They can be easily put on whilst standing on one leg and as they are not to bulky are easily stashed away in a coat pocket if not needed. Time will tell how long they will last but even if they make a couple of winters they are well worth the price.

I bought 2 pairs of these for my children, one of whom walks to work though the park and the other to the local High School ending up walking down a path beside the school which is never gritted and like an ice-rink in winter. I was given a pair for Christmas and walking the dog last thing at night was quick to put them on at the first sign of snow in the new year. Biliiant! They give one such confidence that you walk normalyy perhaps kicking the heel down well to ensure a good contact but I have not gone over in any of the foul ice/snow of either 18th or 25th january 2013 and obviously in the days between - would recommend them to anyone who is nervous in awkward ice/snow conditions - just don't wear them indoors on tile or lino floor - no grip at all!

I bought these in December and have only started using them to take the dog for a short walk in icy conditions this week.They grip brilliantly but snapped after only 4 times worn.Would be a great product if more robust.
