I got this device free with one of my rope. I thought AWESOME.
Have been using Black diamond ATC, and thought lets start using this one.
It does have a nice feel and the design is great, the only thing that wild country were CHEAP on is the black loop.
The black loop on my device started buckling then started snagging on the rope and finally kept getting completely caught up.
As a belay device it should be super stiff like the black diamond ATC's.

This is an absolutely brilliant belay device. I found it to have a ver smooth feel to it and a choice of colours were available when I bought mine, which allowed me to choose my favourite.
The tapering groove by each slot I found to be particularly good when controlling a thinner rope, but that was me personally.
This is also a brilliant belay device for beginners as I have taught to beginners with this belay and they picked it up very quickly as it is simple to use unlike self locking belays.
Personally I won't climb without this piece of kit, but it is whether it suits your style and ability of climbing.
