Absolutely horrible. But I ate it all!, 20 March 2016
By Tom C (Devon)
I finished my plate! These are the worst sausage and beans I've ever had, I took them on my silver dofe and definitely won't be taking them on my gold. The beans are fine. The sausages aren't. I'm not expecting a fresh salt and Black pepper sausage from the butchers but, I can guarantee you the mud on the bottom of my boots taste better. The only reason why I did eat it was because I was dead after the first day of silver. It's worth buying the canned stuff from a supermarket even if it weighs more.
Wayfayrer Beans and Sausage In Tomato Sauce, 30 June 2013

Purchased for son's DofE training & qualifying expeditions. He really liked them. Heat up in boiling water, so no mess tins to wash afterwards (a bonus for him apparently !)
Kept him going until lunch.
Would recommend for easy to cook, filling & light weight to carry in back packs

Got this for backpacking in the lakes, just like the ones in the tin, in my opinion, boiled it in the bag n Bingo, just what you need to get you going first thing after a night on the side of a mountain, a few of these would be quite weighty in your pack so will be looking at dry alternative foods to keep the weight down but i do recommend these.

Pork'n'Beans are a camping classic.
I bought a pouch of this to try before I brought it with me, I expected the sauce to be bland, the meal dry and the sausages as tasteless as the sauce.
The sauce is sweet like regular old tinned beans, the sausages still have a pork flavour and are far from tasteless. I ate mine cold straight from the pouch, though I would recommend pouring them into a bowl, hot or cold.
Eating directly from the pouch can have the foil potentially cut the corners of your mouth, but even when cold, it was still fairly tasty in a pinch. When cooked you're enjoying it at it's best.
I'd wholly recommend you try these out. Just as good as your tinned variety, but lighter and more compact than having a bulky weighty metal can in your pack.
