Superb boots, 13 February 2017
By Elhandsemo (Glasgow)
I wore these boots on Mt Mckinley for three weeks and they are superb. Heavy, yes, they need to be. They are all scarred after the hammering they took from hidden boulders. However the high level inners hurt my feet when I walked around Glasgow just to test them out and the shop (Tiso) gave me the lower level inner which solved the problem. Years ago they cost me 220, so a great price here.
Right boot, for the right job, 14 July 2011

I agree with the other review on here that these boots are not always comfortable on long treks and i've also had some swelling in my ankles. However, I don't get this anymore and i've had blistering with all my boots that are new out of the box. They've just taken more time to wear in than leathers.
On the plus i've used mine climbing in crampons and found them to be excellent. They seem to help distributing my weight and I always feel as though I have a solid foothold. They're also completely dry and my feet have never gotten cold.
I don't think it's really a fault with the boot - try on a variety in the shop, think about what you are going to be using it for (and how often) and pick whats right for you. It's a heavy, solid, warm, reliable plastic boot, but if you need something different then there are plenty of leather alternatives on the market.
Very uncomfortable, 09 April 2011

Wore these boots on a three week mountaineering expedition in central asia. These boots are extremly heavy and make long days at altitude even more tiring. The boots also caused severe blistering around both of my ankles. I would not recomend them.
