Info

The Trangia storm-proof stove system comprises two windshields that fit together, a burner, a couple of pans, a combined lid/frypan, and a handle.

The Trangia 27 series are good stoves for the lone walker or two people.

This set comprises two saucepans (1 graduated, 1 ungraduated), an 18cm combined lid/frying pan, a grip pot handle, windshields and a small, compact stove that takes up minimal room in the rucksack.

When packed using the strap, it makes for a compact and convenient kit that won't get in the way.

Here too, large billies can be placed on the raised supports in the upper windshield.

The stoves are extremely lightweight and hardwearing, and need no special care. The Trangia stove is reliable, without unnecessary parts that can go wrong or be adversely affected by cold. The stove is quick to set up, and packs into a compact unit that takes up minimal space.

The Trangia burner is an ingenious original product, often copied but never bettered. The silent burner has a simple, durable and safe design, easy to light whatever the weather. The simmer ring is used to regulate the heat, which saves fuel, and is used to extinguish the flame.

A light, fast and reliable storm-proof stove system, based on simplicity.

Trangia 27-1, 04 November 2011
By TDan (Derby)
Simple, foolproof, bombproof, utterly reliable. No moving parts, no jets to get clogged up, fuel is available everywhere, nothing you can break and nothing to malfunction.
Mine has given me years of service in all weather conditions without fail.
Certainly not the lightest or most compact on the market, but for sheer rugged reliability Trangias are in a league of their own. That's why they've been around for so long.

Extended use, 03 May 2010
By Sirocco (Bristol)
I have owned and used my smaller Trangia for a number of years now and it has proved very hard wearing and versitile. Whilst meths is a good fuel source (as it can be bought nearly anywhere in the world) I do not recommend it outside of spring/summer months as the ambient temperatures mean it does not burn so well. The gas burner upgrade should really be sought for multi-season use. With this, the Trangia set-up is unbeatable as it does more than just boil water.

overall an excellent cooking system for basecamp or extended backpacking trips.

A great cooking set, 16 February 2010
By Steve-o (Sheffield)
This set is a very compact and lightweight cook set. Meths burner is very effective and boils the large pan of water in under 10 mins and when full will burn for 25 to 30 mins. You couldnt go far wrong with this product.
