Almost perfect, 18 October 2016

I agree with all the other reviews, would have given it 5 stars, what let it down in our opinion was the lack of a two way zip in the sleeping section. Being tall we slept lengthways and the zip ended at either our head or feet, so the one sleeping on the inside had to clamber over the other to get out. Have had many tents over the years including some very cheap ones, all had 2 way zips. It also does not have a mosquito proof door, we did know that, but, that may have helped the condensation problem I suppose. All in all, its ok. Would not have bought it had we known about the zip though.

I bought this tent a few months ago but hadnt gotten round to using it until 25 th and 26 th of september 2016.Myself and my 8 year old son made a mad dash for an overnight camp at the rest and be thankful.Unfotunately the weather turned foul on our way there and I prayed that the Vango was as good as I hoped it would be.When we arrived the rain was torrential and the winds were almost gale force.I promptly put down the footprint to figure where best to pitch, and withing seconds the footprint had become a bath bath, literally 3 inches of rain levitating on it,Nothing I could do about that I then attempted to pitch the tent for the first time in the aforementioned weather....Absolute night conditions. In my infinite wisdom I zipped the door closed to keep the inside dry,That would come back to haunt me,I then figured out that the poles were in the wrong sleeves after the 4th attempt while my son is being swung around by the tent like Mary Poppins,Eventually figured out the pole with the grey sections go to the rear pole sleeve.I then couldnt figure out why the tent wouldnt open up to stand, because Id zipped the door shut and made it almost airtight. So after opening the door,we were in business. Then the real bad weather started. We were literally trapped in the tent for the whole trip and I absolutely cant fault this tent is any way shape or form.It didnt leak in the slightest,it laughed in the face of the gale force winds and kept us dry as a bone and very warm.I realised how good the tent was when I went outside to inspect my dying camp fire and almost came down with exposure while my son relaxed in a T shirt inside the tent. The lights out sleeping section wa a god send from a parents point of view in that my son didnt wake up at 5am bouncing off the walls because its day time.Even tho I hadnt left the air vents open during the night, the condensation wasnt too bad at all and quickly went away after I rolled the door up the next day.All in all its a fantastic piece of kit and Id whole heartedly recommend one to anyone.5 stars and a big thumbs up to VANGO and GO OUTDOORS.
Great tent., 12 September 2016

I first saw this tent in my local GO Outdoors store, I wanted a tent that I could stand up in and that would sleep 3 people comfortably. We had our first overnight away at the weekend and were very impressed, this is a very well designed tent with good internal room, there were 2 of us with camp beds which gave a good nights sleep (4 people would be a tight squeeze),the ventilation is good we had no condensation at all. We experienced very strong winds at the weekend and the tent stood firm with no issues, We had 2 camp beds with air mattresses which gave us a comfortable night, we are also using the footprint which I would recommend to keep the bottom of the tent clean.
Overall this is a great little tent, well designed, easy to put up, and good value for the money, I would definitely recommend it.
Perfect for couples, or a small family, this is a great value tent!, 03 September 2016
I write this review from my newly purchased Vango Talos 400! A quick look around my campsite and it is clear Vango are currently 'ruling the roost', with the majority of tents being theirs!
So, the tent. I made sure to see this tent in the flesh in store before buying, so I knew what I was getting into. The main living space is a good size, and the fact I can stand up in it (I'm 6ft) was a major selling point. I have space for a small table, a couple of fold up chairs, my gas cooker, a plug in cool box and my leisure battery. Plus there is still space to move and get in/out of the tent! The bedroom area is a good size too, and would sleep 3 comfortably - 4 would be cosy, so pick your camp mates wisely!
The tent was easy to pitch, taking me only about 30 mins on my own (well the dog kind of helped!). The only thing to note is to make sure you get the guy lines the correct side of the poles before you insert them. I didn't first time round, which caused some confusion when trying to guy down.
Short term build quality seems excellent. I'm just into my 5th night in the Lake District with this tent, and we've had some decent rain and strong winds, all of which the tent has dealt with brilliantly. No leaks at all! Condensation build up has not been an issue, there is good ventilation above the main door, and at the back of the tent above the sleeping area. Although it's only been me and the dog living in it, add a few more humans and it might be different!
I can't comment on long term reliability as yet, but so far VERY impressed! And at the price paid, it's a whole lot of tent for not a lot of money!

Currently sitting outside the tent. Took me 30 mins on my own to put up. Easily hit 20 mins in future. Have 3 camp beds. You would struggle to fit 4, but with 3 it leaves plenty of room for mine and boys rucksacks.
Have the Midas 600 carpet in the bedroom which is a perfect fit. And also using vango tarp for front shade, but as the front of tent slopes you actually only get the benefit of the 2ft drop to sides as the door reaches out the same distance. You could always use the tarp separately with king pole purchase.
The sleeping compartment has good ventilation with four storage compartments either side. Lounge area could accommodate 140x200 carpet at most, due to angled sections for windows.
