A sturdy and roomy - but compact and light - tent that's ideal for camping on terrain where you are not guaranteed the perfect pitch.
Vango's Mirage 300 Tent boasts an unusual design that really makes the most of what little space it takes up.
It's semi-geodesic, with a 'gothic arch' front pole and a large porch, so it's designed to stand up to wet and windy conditions while giving you plenty of free space and headroom inside.
All-in-one pitching ensures that the inner always stays dry, and it uses Vango's TBS ®II system to stay stable in adverse conditions like strong, changeable winds (when tensioned, the bands brace the pole and prevent sideways movement, and in calm conditions the system can be disconnected).
Convenient inner storage pockets let you keep your gear organized and your sleeping area ready to go. The 'O'-shaped inner door is easily opened with one hand.
Pack it down into its oversized 'fast pack' compression stuffsack for a convenient, highly portable tent!
- Gothic arch pole structure increases stability and lets water/snow run-off from the flysheet
- Part mesh inner door allows ventilation whilst keeping bugs out
- Porch with groundsheet gives you a clean, dry storage area for boots and equipment
- Multi-function flysheet door can open from either side, or roll away completely for an open porch
- 'Rain stop' flysheet doors prevent raindrops from falling into the inner when opened
- Flysheet door vent opens from the top to ventilate porch
- Line-Lok guyline runners lock securely, are simple to release and perform well in all conditions
- All flysheet and groundsheet seams are factory taped, giving a water tight seal
- Multiple reflective points on pegging points for visibility in low light
- Orange reflective high strength guylines
- Weather tested to the European standard in a certified test centre

Not built to last, 11 October 2016
By Moggins (Devon)
Used a total of 4 times in as many years and on the last one leaked as all the taped seams have gone bad. As one of many tents I own for various purposes this one doesn't compare well even with a cheap supermarket tent in terms of durability On the plus side it will stay up in most weather (though mine lets it all in) and is a nice size. I really expected much more from Vango as everything else I own by them has been great. My advice - either go cheap and just keep replacing when they break or go for something in like a Hilleberg which actually will last more than 4 times.

After lengthy research on what I needed i purchased this tent in 2014 & the footprint as it seemed to be the best value for money & ticked all the other boxes for what I required. I have used it in all weather conditions from -13 on Pen y Fan summit to high winds on top of Waun Fach & on camping and kayaking trips around south & west Wales. It has never let me down except for the pegs which typical to vango are not the best but are sufficient for normal camping. Extremely easy to put up & being semi geodesic it's easy to move around once up. When pitched very sturdy & excellent waterproofing & ventilation. I find it best to leave the inner attached when taking down as it's quicker & also quick to pitch again afterwards. So impressed with this tent my friend was he went out & got one himself & I see that they've made the stow bag a little larger. Most of my trips with this tent have been with my son but now he's moving on I use it for my own personal trips except when hiking as it is a little too large & heavy so may get the 200 as well.
