Always a popular choice for families, with large windows and lots of space to suit any camping trip.
The Vango Martisa 500
is a reliable, spacious and easy to use family tent with all the features you need for a comfortable holiday.
Pitching as one with a durable, sewn in groundsheet, the pre-angled steel poles give extra head height compared to standard curved tunnel designs. A large living area and front porch provide lots of space for flexible living and storage. The two bedroom inners are suspended inside, one of which has a further divider curtain to create up to 3 separate sleeping and storage areas.
The reliable Protex® 4000 flysheet has fully-taped seams for wet weather protection. Each of the doors has a mesh screen to allow ventilation whilst preventing insects getting in, and the windows are large with crystal clear PVC and zip-down privacy curtains so you can control the light levels. The groundsheet is tough and waterproof, and the bedrooms each have an additional groundsheet to stop drafts or insects getting in.
Simple, roomy and versatile, it's easy to see why the Vango Maritsa 500 Tent is popular year-on-year.

Vango Maritsa 500, 08 July 2013

Fantastic tent. Read reviews on other websites that the poles can be difficult when taking apart. I had noticed this as well so on second time of putting tent up I used vaseline on the poles which seemed to do the trick. Also the colour coded plastic ends seem to come off fairly easily but may replace with colour coded electricans tape. All in all a brillant tent was very comfy. Can't vouch for it being wind and water tight because I went camping on a very hot weekend!!

Excellent tent, had rain for 3 days and never leaked once. Large living area and we also have the front canopy which makes it even larger. Would always have a Vango..

very pleased with this tent we had a lot of wind and rain and not once did we got dripped on brilliant vango tent
Excellent buy, got it with 20% extra off.. easy to errect and put away. Looked at the 700 first which we though was too big and would probably have incurred extra pitch costs on site. The 500 fits our bill perfectly.
Would recommend to any one
No one gets sacked for choosing a Vango :), 10 June 2011

We've just had to upgrade to a bigger tent to accommodate a new family member. We had an Outwell Colorado 5 - but frankly - the Maritsa is bigger and better able to take 5 than the Outwell was.
Its erected in much the same fashion as most modern tents are - with poles through sleeves and pegs going into the bottom of the poles to help form the solid structure. The poles and sleeves are colour coordinated so theres no chance of getting this wrong.
Whats nice about this tent is that it has sections which is away from the main living area - where you can choose to lay a ground sheet or not. Its useful for coooking and storing wet gear such as coats, wetsuits and the like. The rest of the tent has a built in ground sheet so your all toasty warm in the rest of the tent.
As ever the build quality is to Vango's usual excellent standard, with nice quiet zips as well.
Our first run with it was in very calm conditions - so cannot vouch for what its like in stormy conditions - but if its anything like the rest of the Vango's weve had in the past theres no reason to suppose that it will be anyhting that excellent.
I'd thouroughly reccommend it.
