A roomy tent for eight people that uses inflatable beams instead of poles. Set it up in minutes and your camp is ready!
Vango AirBeam® tents use inflatable beams in place of traditional poles, allowing you to pitch a large family tent in a matter of minutes! Pitching time takes only 3 to 10 minutes (depending on the size of the tent) and will be up and ready in 4 easy steps. All you have to do is take the tent out of the bag, pop a peg in each corner, pump up the inflatable beams and peg down a few guylines. It really is that simple!
They're so quick and easy to pitch that one person can pitch an AirBeam tent within minutes. Whether you’re camping solo or with the kids, an AirBeam tent will make pitching and dismantling a breeze.
The Vango Icarus Air 800's combination of space, flexibility and simplicity make it popular with anyone looking for a weekend tent for family camping or festival visits.
The outer is waterproof with taped seams, and the fully sewn-in groundsheet keeps out draughts and creepy crawlies.
The spacious front porch is great for storing gear, furniture, bikes etc, and the large windows give great all-round visibility and let in lots of light. Roll-up curtains allow for privacy when you need it.
The side mesh door allows for insect-free ventilation, and the parallel-zip front door can be extended out as a canopy using awning poles (not included).
Front and rear venting and a breathable inner keep you comfortable inside even on those bright mornings.
The whole tent packs easily into a handled carry-bag for simple, easy transportation.
Supplied with pump for fast inflation and deflation

liked the idea of not lugging heavy poles around, this tent is up and ready in 10 mins, pump is good quality too, once erected there is absolutely loads of room, (although it is only two of us) the living area is huge, we got the awning which we use as our kitchen, it's a very sturdy tent even in gale force winds and didn't let a drop of rain in, zipped curtains are a great feature, overall we're very pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend it
Brilliant Tent with some flaws, 27 December 2015
By Tony (Milton Keynes)
Erecting the tent 10/10, being a pole based camper and moving to air-beams is such an amazing upgrade (apart from if you get a puncture, yet to have one or if you forget the pump ...)
The tent is large and easily accommodates 8 regular sized adults in each bedroom and you still have a living area albeit, somewhat cozy if with 8 adults
A family of 6/8 - great sized tent
Even better if you get a bundle deal and have the front porch/awing
The tent was 100% water tight, we suffered some amazing storms during summer 2015 and this tent never leaked and as always when you first put a new tent up, you learn when taking it down what to best do the next time you erect it
So, one star missing is due to the entrance doors which you have on either side of this doomed tent as by design of the dome of the tent when you get heavy rain you will of course get some water coming in when you open the doors, something by now you could easily fix (Vango) by just having a large edge/rim around both the doors, whereby the rain runs off. HINT HINT
Awning, is good for that extra space but again is not 100% water TIGHT with the tent, so attach wisely and with some adjustments works very well
I do highly recommend this air-beam tent and it does transform the 1hr setup of poles to a 15 minute pump-up

All i can say this tent is amazing. If your after buying a tent dont consider anything else
Single dad to three children.
Thought the tent was expensive but bought as a bundle deal tent awning carpet footprint.
I was dubious at first but got to campsite in withernsea just past hull first time out of bag took me lot longer to put it up due to in experience took me 4 hours in end lol but dont let that put you off as i said inexperienced camper here
Blew the tent up and pegged out had to redo it due to my own fault but hey next time im on a site this tent will be fully operational with in 15 Mins thats with 3 young kids
Loads of room inside its big (huge) 4 of us had loads of space and comfortable to
It stood up to a windy night and as mentioned in other reviews other tents moved about it really does stand strong in bad winds and rain
Just buy it and you will not be disappointed and if looked after quality of the materials will last you years
Im glad i spent the money on this quality tent
Awning had to return due to a manafacturing fault but hey its big impressive and also good quality
Dont buy anything else if you want a good tent at a good price go for this you can even inflate from inside if weathers bad too so you keep dry ??
But this guy very impressed just as the kids were on a first camping trip
Kids happy so is dad simples ??

Having reviewed this tent and given it 5 stars, I have now changed my mind! Blakbruker's review is correct, you can't open the doors without letting in rain. The 2015 model called Centara looks to have overcome this problem and is only on the Vango website. Looks like I'm going to have to fork out for an awning :-(
Quick to pitch but design flaws, 28 July 2015
By blakbruker (St Helens)
The tent is really quick and simple to pitch and only takes 1 person 10 minutes but it is 10 minutes very hard work, pumping up each tube makes quite a strain on the back. Simple to take down too once you get used to folding and rolling, folding and rolling to get the air out. However, the tent has 3 doors and in rain it is impossible to get in and out of any of them without a heap of water dripping in unless you have some kind of external shelter (we use a tarp as a shelter over the side door now. Quality of tent is really good, just a shame about the poorly designed doors.
