A great tunnel tent that provides a large amount of space for such a small carry weight, ideal for weekends away, scout trips and cycle touring.
With its combination of durable, breathable & highly waterproof fabrics, strong lightweight poles and plenty of space, the Vango Galaxy 300
is the perfect trekking tent.
It includes Vango's patented TBS II® Tension Band System* which works to ensure it will always stand firm and stable, and high performance Line-Lok guyline runners that lock securely and are simple to release.
The stand-up height porch gives you space to unpack and change in comfort, and there's even room to spare for storing a bike or two. It uses a clip-in riser groundsheet to provide a clean, dry storage area for your boots and equipment, while also helping to reduce draughts.
*Patented Vango TBS®II Tension Band System ensures that tent performs in
adverse conditions, especially in strong, changeable winds. When
tensioned, the bands brace the pole at 3 points, and prevent sideways
movement. Adjust TBS®II to remove slack. Do not over tension, as this
may deform the poles. Can be stowed away in calm weather.

Galaxy 300 Beware, 12 August 2016
By damon nomad (Newcastle)
Put this tent up for the 1st time in a field in Northumberland.
When I left the wind got up a bit.
When I returned, no tent.
Due to the entrance being the size of a whale mouth and the back end tapering down to a rbbit hutch, the wind picked it up and blue it across the field.
The result was a two snapped poles and one bent one.
Oh well there goes £250 down the drain. How it passed the relevant industry tests when it can't even withstand a bit of wind.
Also, my mate's 12 tear old, £20 tent from Aldi was sitting where my brand new Galaxy 300 used to be.
What a (insert relevent expletives)
Great tent, but time will tell!, 10 August 2016
By Swisscamper (Switzerland)
I've owned many tents. My last family version lasted 8 years of camping in the rain and wind of west Wales. This year I down-sized to the Vango Galaxy, which I chose carefully for a number of reasons. Over this first summer, again in west Wales, it proved itself to be exactly what I was looking for, but in the long-run I'm not sure it will have the staying power of my previous tent (8 years). It has several good weather-conscious features (structural support, raised ground-sheet, high hydrostatic head for flysheet and groundsheet), it is very light (5.6kg) and easy to re-pack, it has plenty of space in the outer tent, and for two people to sleep in the inner tent - a bit of a push for three people with bags. What are my concerns? Primarily, the groundsheet is evidently watertight, but could easily be punctured so would benefit from a "footprint" of some sort. In addition, I'm concerned about the plastic clips used to connect the groundsheet - not sure that they will last 8 years, in which case you would have to buy another Vango groundsheet for this model, as no other would provide the same watertight structure. However overall, this is a very good product. You even have the impression that the tent designers might have spent a few nights outdoors in British weather! I hope to use my Vango Galaxy for many years to come.
Great for small car camping., 08 August 2016

Generally camping in NW England my husband and I have struggled to find a small tent with adequate living space for wet weather.I bought this tent so we could have indoor space when camping alone. So far have only used it in the dry but there was plenty of room for three to sit inside on a cold evening. Love being able to stand up inside and not have to crawl out of the tent. Outer bucket groundsheet fits well to inner but has long gaps on the outer sections which could be a problem in the wet. So far I'm very happy with the purchase. Packs up small which is a definite plus.
Perfect Motorcycling Tent., 25 June 2016

The size this tent packs down to is amazing, similar to the Vango Mirage but the space available in the porch area is incredible, easily enough for 3 people to escape from the rain in.Easy to put up,easy to take down, nothing really to fault it. Ideal for Motor Bike weekends, highly recommended.
Dry weather tent? Not put together well., 10 June 2016
By Steve&Val (Cornwall)
The tent seems to be made Down to a price rather than putting quality and function first. The outer ground sheet could have been stitched in, those clips are annoyingly firm, without keeping rain out of the outer tent. The seams don't seem to be taped, daylight can be seen through the stitching, how would it fair in a Dartmoor downpour.Maybe a more subdued colour for the sleeping section, bright orange isn't the most restful of colours. This seems to be the only tent that allows you to stand in the outer tent, but needs to be carried in pieces if packing it across the moors(hence detachable ground sheet? ) for that size and weight of tent.
So although the tent has its merits, if you will be using you car and staying on a campsite there are better tents out there.I maybe a little critical, but a tent should make you feel as if it would keep you dry and be reasonably secure in a storm,I really would be concerned in the Galaxy 300
