Features

A merino wool baselayer for comfort next to the skin and supreme wicking properties.

  • 100% 200gsm Merino wool
  • Naturally adjusts to suit climate
  • Remains warm when wet
  • Ultra soft
  • Naturally odour free
  • Highly breathable
  • Fully biodegradable
  • Easy to care
  • An ideal baselayer top
Made with soft feeling merino wool, with excellent wicking properties as well as a low weight for it's warmth, the Merino Baselayer Top from Trekmates is very lightweight and comfortable, ideal for days spent skiing, running, hiking or walking.

The Trekmates Merino Baselayer Top is an odour-free alternative to cotton specifically designed for the warmer months and is also capable of drawing moisture away from the body and holding it in the fabric, so you stay warm and damp free for longer.

Merino wool is a natural fibre, meaning it is great for sensitive skin, and it can also be washed and dried at home with ease, making it great for use after use.

Made with flat locked seams that aren't raised to increase comfort, this next to the skin top is perfect as part of your layering system.

Far better than any man made base layer, 11 May 2011
By Pgatens (Hertford)
I have tried a number of base layers and none come up to a merino wool baselayer top. And this represents the best value merino wool baselayer you can buy! Merino wool against the skin keeps you warm and really does wick the seat away (unlike many other synthetic materials I have tried). One feature that is really good is the complete lack of the material absorbing any body odour, even after wearing it for extended periods or multiple times. Merino wool can sometimes be slightly rough on the skin, but it I would not say it is uncomfortable in any way. I'll be buying more of these to replace other man made baselayer T shirts that I have. Top product!

Not Ultrafine - not even sure it's merino, 14 December 2010
By Twitterbug (Leeds)
This was given to me as a present. The giver thought that as it was labelled "ultrafine" it must be good. It's rubbish. It's coarse, itchy and unpleasant to wear. So much so I contacted Trekmates. They admitted to me that it wasn't superfine merino at all. Nuff said. If you want decent superfine merino you have to pay for it.

Wool worth it, 25 November 2010
By Dan Merino (Hook)
I have long espoused the importance of wool as part of an effcetive layering system. Having previously relied on merino as a mid layer, this was my first purchase as a base. I mainly wear it for cycling and love the breathability, warmth and comfort. Fantastic product, although I cannot compare to others as it it's my only merino base.
