The Last Hat You'll Ever Buy!, 20 October 2011
By Colin E (Birmingham)
Having had my hat for close to 5 years, it's seen its fair share of use. After being a bit reluctant to get it in the first place - lets face it, it's not the cheapest - it's seen me through rainy Welsh mountains and the intense sunshine & heat of the Dominican Republic. It's survived being soaked with rain, bombarded with hail, covered in snow, and more sun & sweat than I care to imagine. It's even been through the washing machine once or twice and every time comes out looking like new. The heavy cotton makes this hat durable while still light. One of my biggest concerns was how hot it would make my head in the sun. I'm glad to say that my fears were completely unfounded & this hat is now a must-have on those hot, sunny days.
All in all, this is the best hat I've ever bought & the way it's going, it'll be the last hat I ever buy.

Indestructible hat, 14 June 2011

I bought my T3 about 4 years ago. I went for the heavier T3 as I can be very hard on kit and the heavy cotton seemed more robust to me than some of the other models. I've worn it in all weathers, rain, snow, baking heat etc in various places round the world. It's been sodden, sweated through, scrunched up in bags and generally abused throughout that time. A quick wash and stretch and it looks 'almost' like new, certainly doesn't show signs of the abuse I've given it. It floats, which was handy when It came off whilst sailing (should have used the cord to keep it on) and is I believe totally indestructable. They are not cheap but they are a classic design with some nice touches eg. pouch in the top for small items (I keep an emergency £10, matches and water purification tablets)and a small velcro loop for securing sunglasses. This hat will last you a lifetime. I have in the past bought lots of different outdoors hats. This was the last outdoor hat I bought and don't think I'll be buying anymore, this one survives everything I've thrown at it.
