As with all things in life, you get what you pay for. This may not be the cheapest hat on offer, but it probably is the best. I bought one on the recommendation of my fiance who's had his for years and put it through various amounts of abuse all over the world! I have to say I love my Tilley hat. It's kept me cool and dry in Egypt, and warm and dry in wet Wales! The fit is fantastic. I often have trouble getting hats to fit, but this one feels comfortable and secure - for really windy days the straps are great.
Helps that it looks stylish too!

These hats are fantastic for use in all weathers, lightweight yet warm .
Exellent for keeping both the sun and rain off the face and neck, and the strap system for use in windy conditions is most useful and comfortable.
