Similar in design, but lighter than their All-Terrain Jacket, The North Face Downpour Jacket is a very lightweight, very breathable outer shell, suitable for the wettest weather.
The shell is constructed from 2-layer GORE-TEX Performance Shell, so it's rugged enough to take scrapes and knocks, and extremely breathable, completely windproof and waterproof.
It's interactive (IA) zips and attachment points allow you to securely fasten in a compatible The North Face fleece midlayer, such as The North Face Genesis Jacket , when the temperature drops.
There is a mesh and taffeta lining to help breathability and inner ventilation, and more ventilation can be achieved through the pockets if needed.
Hidden under the storm flap on the main zip is an OS map sized pocket, for easy protected access to your map when it's raining.

Bought this with a Massif zip in for a trip to Siberia. The zip in system is brilliant, and with a compatible fleece would see you through any conditions here in the UK to WELL below zero...and wet. It's kept me bone dry in a freak downpour in southern England already. Well worth the money.

what can i say this jacket is truly something else, i purchased it at the start of the year and been in some of the lakes most savage weather when goin up scafell and i stayed bone dry also the ventilation is something else aswell as i barely broke a sweat compared to my sprayway couple this with a decent micro fleece attach it to the zip in system and there is no stopping you.
