The Montane Terra Alpine Pants have been designed for those who want to tackle the mountains in comfort.
Made using Montane's 'Granite Stretch' fabric and cut with a high-lift crotch and articulated knees, they allow for full, easy movement, without getting restrictive.
They are resistant to abrasion, lightly water-resistant, and have ventilation points to keep you comfortable.

Excellent pants, very flexible and comfortable. The stretch material work with you and the alpine cut is very snug. I find the belt stays tight and doesn't need tightening regularly. The DWR also works very well. Generally I'm a 34 waist and 32 leg (jeans and trousers) and found the L a bit too tight but the XL was a perfect fit.

I am a big fan of Montane gear, but when if came to trousers, I have also found Craghoppers offered me the best fit. However, went for these (XL size - I'm 6'1", 32'leg) and they are a great fit, very comfortable. The pockets are a good size, with a little inside zip pocket for credit cards/small phone (discovered after washing) Ive not tested them in tricky weather conditions yet, but I will!!!

I looked at these trousers and thought they look like those silly jeans that all the youth seem to be wearing nowadays. Don't let that fool you though, these are great trousers. In keeping within the principle of soft shell these can be used in a wide variety of activites, are cool when need be, and keep the cold and wind out when you want that too.
They're a great fit and allow for plenty of movement for climbing.
The material is very windproof, breathable and dry quickly.
I wasn't sure about the vent zips on the thighs but when it starts getting warm on an ascent they really do make a difference. Likewise I wasn't too sure about the ankle zips but they're also great for venting, or for stopping draft if you zip them up when it get's cold.
Great pair of trousers, I wouldn't go up into the hills without them. Wore them comfortably in alps, from 30C heat in valley, and up into high mountians at -5C with 50K winds.
