Check the compass is pointing in the correct direction, as the one we got, was pointing 180 deg the wrong way. Try to find the paper work to go back and change it. Rubbish!!!

I bought this compass after my old one eventually packed in. Walking regularly its been a great companion in the mountains when visibility has not been great. The compass is full sized which makes it much easier to use, taking compass bearing from the map and triangulating onto the map. It has the 3 main scales 1:25000, 1:40000 and 1:50000 making it a durable compass over a wide range of maps and terrains. For heavy use with experienced walkers its a great companion but not the compass to start your walking with. Overall a great compass!
