First of all, my thanks to Rob - at Colidale. This guy know everything about climbing.
I'm a newbie to climbing and looking to do my CWA. I was really confused about which shoes to buy, and looked endlessly at website trying to get the right advice.
I went to GO OUTDOORS and tried many shoes on, until this one. Anything with that yellow VIBRAM sign catches my eye as I know, technically this is made to resist slipping in all conditions. All my hiking, climbing even my walking shoes to work are vibram.
I'm a size 8, so the last one left was a size 8. I tried this one on, and somewhat it felt tight. I took it home and though maybe I'll give it a proper try and keep it on my feet for 30 mins. But actually it felt like my feet were being starved of blood. After a few hundred rethinks, I took them back, and tried on a size bigger - 9. Luckily they had new stock!
Size 9 was the one! Perfect fit. In the beginning, it felt slightly big as the heel was slipping a bit. But I realised that if you tighted the shoe up prperly, it will not slip. Your feet need a slight gap to allow for feet twisting and bending. If it will be too tight, then you will find it very difficult. As I type this, I have them on my feet at home.
I used them today at a climbing wall, much better than the hire ones that have had 100's of people feet in them. Also the grip is outstanding. I tried the 5/10 shoes before on one particular rock ledge, and slipped everytime. These - they like F1 tyres on a racetrack!
A great shoe, looks great and other website give it a 10/10. I give it a 11/10! :)

I bought these shoes when I first had a taster of bouldering a few years ago on a recommendation. I've since used them for outdoor sport and trad, as well as for indoor climbing. Generally they have been a very good shoe, well fitting but comfortable enough to walk around in at the crag without feeling like my toes are in a vice.
However, the rubber now feels very polished and both the inside and outside edges have all but disappeared. In all fairness to the shoes they have been through a summer of gritstone trad and climbing 3 times a week.
The lace-up design gives a very good fit but the material itself can get a bit slippy if (like me) you have sweaty feet given the lack of breathability.

I brought these as a second pair of shoes as my evolv bandits which are super sticky had to be resoled after 6 months of indoor climbing and i was looking for a harder wearing pair and cant fault them they are great for indoor climbing and have been used on the crags in cheddar, my only issue I had with them is for the first few days climbing they where really slippy but once the rubber had worn in they have been great, however not as sticky as my evolv bandits but i cant fault them and they are a great entry level shoe
