For years Salomon have been forging the way in lightweight outdoor footwear by building trail running benefits into walking shoes. With the
Salomon X Ultra the boundaries have been almost totally removed to create a trail shoe that lets you switch from walker to runner in the length of a stride.
The heavily meshed upper provide superb venting, and incorporates a burley toe bumper for those inevitable impacts when moving at speed. Salomon's Advanced Chassis™ provides a firm base for grip, support and protection, yet allows the foot to move with a dynamic gait. Equipped with the super skinny Quicklace™ system for fast, reliable lacing, and lace pockets to prevent trips or snags on any loose ends. Finished with a tough Contagrip® sole, incorporating dual directional lugs for reliable acceleration and emergency stops.

Superb shoe with the expected Salomon comfort and quality. Very much a slim fitting trail running style shoe and I needed to go up a size, in fact to my Salomon boot sizing. Avoided the GTX as I want these primarily for summer use and preferred breathability over water resistance.
Saloman suit my feet (have Quest boots) and the ortholite insoles are the comfiest I know, these won't suit everone's feet but I'm glad they do mine!

Only had the shoes a few days but already they have proved to support my foot and are very comfy.
Im a size 12 and i expected the shoe to be quite heavy, however they are the lightest pair iv ever owned! Its my first pair of trail walking shoe and im very impressed. Bye bye Nike hello Salomon!
