Info
Whether you're trekking or climbing, you need a jacket that can provide protection and warmth. The Rab Summit Jacket has been created with a
Pertex Endurance Shell to help you out.
Tough and abrasion resistant, it protects against all the weather Mother Nature can throw at you.
Providing an extraordinary fill power of 660+ as well as additional shoulder insulation, you will be hard pressed to find a jacket that offers quite the same level of comfort and warmth.
Stitch through baffle construction means that the down is stabilized, so warmth is easily distributed across the whole jacket, which weighs an impressively toasty 980g.
The heat doesn't stop there either. 2 hand warming pockets and adjustable cuffs as well as a down filled hood means that from top to toe, you will get the benefits of this fantastic jacket.
The Pertex® Endurance body combines abrasion-resistance with supreme warmth in the form of 260g of 90% supreme quality goose down, for cold-weather protection in all conditions, even polar routes.
The detachable down-filled hood with wrap-around face protection allows extreme protection to your extremities, and for better weather, you can remove it for a lower pack weight.
The pockets are lined with mesh, allowing them to be quick drying when damp, and also warming, ideal for use in extreme cold when accessing a rucksack is impractical. The pocket placement itself ensures easy access as you move.
The body itself benefits from abrasion resistant shoulders as well as reinforcements, so the usual wear and tear along certain rucksack worn areas is not seen in the Summit Insulated Jacket.
The Summit is seen as one of the best jacket's in its class when based on exceptional warmth and technical features. The quality features and technical ability for it's weight ensures that the Summit will become a tried and trusted part of your outdoor kit.
Rise above the weather and keep focused, wherever you are with the Summit jacket.

I've had this for about 5 years now, and its really been abused. it's survived 2 trips to nepal, and camping at -25 degrees. never felt cold wearing it, and warms you up quickly. Its also survived dog shows and winter walks, being crammed into a rucksac, and anything I can throw at it. I needed to go up a size, same as I do for all rab products, but the fit is good. Its been a good friend, and still going strong.
Great Jacket, 17 July 2010
By Lewis (Sheffield)
I bought this jacket to serve me in Norway for 6 months, through the winter. It did its job.
Extreme insulation, extreme lightweight. It packs down very well, perfect for carrying in the rucksack. Insulated hood came in very handy at times!
Not waterproof though, the only disadvantage to it, i'd say. Then again, it isn't meant to be fully waterproof.
Great jacket for all it's purposes.
Very warm, 31 January 2010

I bought this jacket for the purpose of keeping warm, it's almost instant heat once you put it on and i've never been cold in it. I would say the smaller feather coming out of the seams are am annoying. Jacket packs away into very small stuff bag (supplied). I cant help feeling if buying this jacket again i'd buy the Summit Extreme thats fully waterproof and does not loose its fill.
